Think about your own experience of reading and listening.

1. In what way is reading a novel different to reading a recipe?
Novel is like reading other people’s story and experience in life that you can get a lesson
that you can use in your daily life and it can build your vocabulary while reading recipe is giving
you instruction in doing something that give you interest.

2. How is listening to an announcement at an airport different to listening to a song?

Listening to an announcement is just like giving you information that you might needed
while listening to a song gives you freedom to feel what the singer wants us to tell.

3. Can you think of other things we read and listen to in different ways, and how do
we read or listen to them?
When you read the lyrics of a song sometimes, we think it may be a happy song but when
you listen to it was a painful song and had so much emotions that you can feel while listening to
it.

4. How many different ways of reading and listening can you think of?
In reading there is 4 ways which are Skimming, Scanning, Intensive Reading and
Extensive reading while in listening there are also 4 ways and those are appreciative, empathic,
comprehensive, and critical.
