Inquiry Question: How can I create, build, and maintain an online business where I can sell
stickers that I designed?

1) Capstone Project Summary:

In the box below, please type out 200 – 300 words explanation of what you are planning to do with
your Capstone Project. It should be as specific as possible, detailing what you hope to accomplish.

For my capstone project, I am planning to design stickers on the digital drawing app ‘Ibis Paint,’ then I
will print them onto sticker paper and cut them out on my Cricut machine to turn them into stickers. I will
create an online store (probably on Etsy or Shopify) where I will sell the stickers that I made. I will need to
make prices for the stickers which will be created using the costs of the platforms I will be using, the materials,
the shipping, and the time it takes to make them. I will also create social media accounts to market my
business. On these accounts, I will announce new/upcoming stickers, and add surveys where customers can
suggest/vote on new sticker designs that I can make. I will need to create the packaging that the stickers will
come in, and find the best way to ship them to customers. By the end of the semester, I hope to design and
make stickers to sell, and create and build a business online that I could continue to use after I graduate.

Explain WHY you are choosing to investigate this topic as a major area of focus. How does this area of inquiry
connect to your passion(s), purpose? Why is it of personal interest to you?

I am choosing to design and sell stickers for my capstone project because it is something I have been
wanting to do for a while. I do not have a job right now, so this would also be a good way to earn a little
money while doing something that I love to do (digital art/designing and making stickers).

4 ) Background: What background knowledge / connections / prior learning do you have that can help you to
be successful with your project?

I already know how to draw digitally, which is something I need to do when designing stickers. I also
know how to make good quality stickers from the designs that I create. Recently, I have learned how to build a
website, which is something I need to do when making an online business. I need to learn more about the
financial aspects of selling online, which is something my mom can help me with. One of my mom’s friends has
started her own business before, so if I have any questions about starting my business or need help with
something, I can ask her.

5) Career connections: What is your intended career area at this point in time? What connections does this
inquiry question have to your life, academic and/ or career goals? What are you hoping to gain from completing
this project (other than graduating or passing CLC 12)?

My intended career area right now is 3D animation. This project idea connects to my hobby of art and
relates a little to my career goals because they are both digital art forms. By completing this project, I hope to
improve my digital art, and create an online business that I can continue to use after I graduate.
