sorted next week, forecast the volume for

1) Thave solved this in Excel. The screenshot is attached

below. Let me explain the method:

In the question, there are 2 samples for 7 days( a week) each.

First, calculate the average for each day for these two
samples e.g. for Sunday, (5+8)/2 =13/2 = 6.5 is the average of
the samples. In the same manner, calculate average for each
day.(row 4 in the attached image)

Now,sum up all these averages for these 7 days and you will
get the value of 217 (cell 14).

Toget the seasonality factor, divide the average for each day
by the average of total (i.e 217/7=31 because there are 7 days
here).

So, 6.5/31 = youget the seasonality factor for Sunday, 17.5/31

= youget seasonality factor for Monday and so on.

This way, youwill get seasonality for all| 7 days.

2)To estimate the volume for each day for next week,

total mails to be sorted = 230,000

Tocalculate mails to be sorted on Sunday, multiply 230,000

with Sunday's seasonality factor and divide by sum total of
seasonality (cell15).

Forexample, for Sunday, = 0.21*230,000/7 =6,889 and so on

for all the other days.
