BEING PROUD

Binta was now a big girl she was now four
years old and she started going to school, she was
talking to one of the biggest school in town, and she
was so intelligent that she was always the first
position in her class. She won so many awards and
she also the one of the neatest student in the school.
Her teachers liked her and most of them
bought her gifts, some of her classmates wanted to be
her friend but she prefers to make friends with boys
and girls of higher level and was so proud of herself,
she became abusive and rude she disrespect her
elders ones and teachers whenever she came to
school her mother will give her money and tell to but
whenever she need and keep the change little binta
was proud was pampered and she totally became a
spoilt child.
One day binta went to school and started a
fight, she beat up her classmate and give her injuries
all-over her body and when the injuries they called
binta and ask her she was fighting, she could not
explain. The teacher got angry and beat binta and sent
her back to her seat, and took the injured girl to the
sick bed.
When binta got home she told her mother
that a punished her for no reason, her mother got
angry and said that she will make sure the teacher
that beat her daughter will loss his or her job, binta
was happy about her mother’s decision and went to
sleep happily. Her mother on seeing the mark on her
daughter’s skin swears to make the life of the teacher
miserable.
The next day binta mother went to school
and told the school principal that her daughter did not
do anything to deserve the kind of punishment the
teacher give to her daughter and she said that if they
did not sack the teacher she will look for another
school for her daughter to go to.
When the principal heard this he couldn’t
help but to sack the teacher in question, he was kind
happy of happy to lose a good teacher but to heard to
do it or he might lose a student that teacher was
surprise at the school principal reaction so she left the
school at once but before she left, she told her student
what really happen, her student where sad but they
couldn’t do anything they just said good bye and left
the school.
Binta continue her life she wrote and pass all
her SSS exams and gain admission in to the
university. Binta has now finisher her university level
she had just completed her (National Youth Service
Corps) NYSC and was now going to celebrate her
21st birthday. She was so happy she invited all her
friends and relatives to the party, she was so happy
because she was going to do lot of shopping and
preparation for her birthday cake. It was fun for her
less, earrings and some other things.
The day of her birthday came all her friends
came and celebrated with her, they sang birthday
song and there was lots to eat and drink they had lot
of fun and ate whatever they wanted to some took
extra drinks they were all happy. Binta was still a
proud and abusive girl, she hated beggars abuse them
of smelling and too dirty for her liking, she never
change instar she became worse. So one day binta
was going to her friends place in the next compound
as she was going she saw some boy’s, they greeted
her she did answer she hiss at them and she told the
boys never to greet her she told them that they were
not her type that if they needed money they should
beg like the beggars they should stop pretending, she
hissed and walked always.
The boys became angry and decided to deal
with her, unknown to her, the boys were arm robbers
they came to check out the area before operating in
the night. Few days later after binta had abuse those
boys, they decided to rob her house they came to her
hose collected her father’s money and short her father
on the head he died instantly. The boys raped binta
and her mother they left a note for her to read. Her
father was rush to the hospital and was confirmed
dead.
Binta was tested and was found pregnant
binta mother was so sad. After some later binta
mother saw the note that the boys left and it reads
“We are the boys you met the other day on your way
to your friends, you deserved whatever situations you
are facing now u were too rude to us so we decided to
teach u a lesson don’t bother calling the police
because you won’t find us”.
It was at that time binta knew she was
paying for her sins and she wished her parent correct
earlier binta to accept her fate. Few days after binta
dad’s burial her father’s family pushed binta and her
mother out of the house to the street telling them that
they were cursed. Ever since then binta learnt never
to be proud but to show love even if it little to people
and that little respect can do a lots
