Course Description This course provides students with a foundational set of basic health care vocabulary that relates to a variety of health care work settings. Students will review terms and concepts related to the structure and professions within the health care delivery systems. In addition, students will also explore terminology related to body systems and common diseases and treatments associated with these systems. If so, how have historical changes affected you or your role? Which area of health care do you work in now or which area do you plan to pursue? How has health care reform affected this field? What are your thoughts on these changes? Were you surprised that positive and negative health outcomes are linked to demographic indicators? Have you had to deal with any of these outcomes in your current work? What resources are there for finding more information on the history of health care in the United States?

Weekly Team Review Learning Team Body Part Presentation Select one of the body systems or organs discovered in either the Week Four or Week Five crossword or labeling exercises. Create a 15- to 20-slide Microsoft PowerPoint presentation you could present to high school students to encourage better healthseeking behaviors and to encourage them to consider a health professions career. Identify why this body system or organ is vital to a healthy life and how it should be taken care of. Include the following: Appropriate graphics, such as charts and graphs Detailed, comprehensive speaker notes using complete sentences, correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling Only one key concept per slide with the number of words on each slide kept to a minimum Introduction, conclusion, and reference slides At least three references

Answer the following questions in your presentation: How does this system or organ function? What role does it play in overall health? What is the effect of disease on this system or organ? What is the cost of access to care if the system or organ becomes diseased? What professions provide care to this system or organ? What has the government done to help improve care for this organ or system? What are some recommendations for improving health for this system or organ? What can individuals do to raise their awareness for making improvements for better health of the organ or system, such as screening?

Format: Review Sample Power Point Presentation in Course Material. Speaker notes should be formatted with correct headings, paragraph indentions, citations and references. Consistency is important. Please review how the speaker notes discuss the points on the slides. Also, review how the format of the slides are consistent throughout as well as the speaker notes

are all formatted the same. Complete sentences should not be used on slides. Bullet points are used and the speaker notes enhance "each" bullet point. All references are required to be cited within the text and all th citations are required to be referenced. Please refer to APA 6 edition guidelines. LT Evaluation Each LT Member is required to submit a LT Evaluation to their Individual Forum before or on the same day the final LT Assignment is due. LT Evaluations will be used when determining individual LT grades.
