known as Queen Elizabeth II. Queen Elizabeth is also the Head of Commonwealth and The
Supreme Governor of the Church of England. She succeeded her father on February 6, 1952 and
has been the reigning monarch for over 62 years. She is the second longest reigning British
monarch behind Queen Victoria. Charles, Prince of Wales is the heir apparent to the throne.
Queen Elizabeth II present sovereign of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth
realms is the daughter of George VI, the second-eldest son of George V and Mary of Teck; and of
Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon. The queen has four children with her late husband Prince Philip, the
Duke of Edinburgh. From oldest to youngest, we've got now-King Charles (73), Princess Anne
(71), Prince Andrew (62), and Prince Edward (57.)
