SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

This study will focus on determining the effects of financial literacy to the spending

habits among ABM students. In this regard, this study will find out the demographic profile of

respondents in terms of sex, allowance, and family monthly income. The researchers limited the

study to 73 grade 12 senior high school students of abm strand enrolled in second semester of

school year 2023 - 2024 in Rosario Integrated School, Poblacion East, Rosario La Union. Each

of the respondents was given a questionnaire to answer.

Moreover, the respondents were chosen using purposive sampling technique. Crossman

(2020) stated that a purposive sampling method is a non-probability sample that is chosen

according to the characteristics of a population and the objectives of the study.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The aim of the study is to provide valuable and factual data which will be helpful for

students, parents, teachers, school administrators, and future researchers.

To the students, the findings of this study would benefit them by giving awareness about

their current condition with regards to spending.

To the parents, this will provide information to them on how financially literate their

children are and how they manage their spending.


To the teachers, the findings of the study will also benefit the teachers by being aware of

their students spending and how financially literate they are.

To the school administrators, these findings will also benefit them by providing them

information about what policies to employ to address the improvement of students financial

literacy.

To the future researchers, this will benefit them by using it as a reference in conducting

new research of the same issue.
