sizes, and geometric relationships.

B. Performance Standards
The learner can create models of plane figures and formulate and solve
accurately authentic problems involving sides and angles of a polygon.

C. Learning Competency
Classifies the different kinds of angles.
(M7GE-IIIa-3)

D. Specific Objectives
At the end of the lesson the students will be able to:
1. define and identify the different types of the angle,
2. classify angles according to their measures
3. solve problems involving angles.

II. CONTENT Basic terms and set operation on rays

III. LEARNING RESOURCES
A. References
1. Teacher’s Guide Pages : None
2. Learner’s Materials Pages : Mathematics Quarter 3-Module 3: Lines and angles
3. Additional Materials: paper, pen

IV. PROCEDURES
TEACHER’S ACTIVITY STUDENTS’ ACTIVITY
A. Preliminary Activities

1. Prayer
May I request everyone to please In the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the
stand for the prayer? Holy Spirit, Amen…

Please be seated.

2. Greetings
Good morning class! Good Morning Sir!
How are you this morning? We are very much fine, Sir!

3. Checking of attendance
Are there any absent today? None Sir.
Very good!
Are you excited for our new lesson for
today? Yes we are, Sir!
Wow, good to hear that.

4. Setting of Rules
Before we finally move on to our
lesson, let us first have an agreement. Is
that fine with you all? Yes, sir!

I want you to keep all things that are

not needed to our discussion. Sit properly
and do not talk with your seatmates.

What will you do if you want to

answer to my questions?
We’ll just raise our hands silently,
sir.
Very good!

And what will you do if

somebody is talking here in front? We should listen attentively, sir.
Bravo!

What about if we have group activities? We have to cooperate and participate, sir.

So, do we have an agreement now? Yes, sir!

B. Review
Before we proceed to our new lesson
for today, let us have a short recap about
our lesson last week.

Do you still remember what was our

lesson last week? About subsets of a line, sir.

Very Good!

What are the subsets of a line? Line segment and ray, sir.
Very good!

What is a line segment?

 Line Segment has two endpoints
 Stop at the endpoints.

 Ray has one endpoint.

What is a ray?
 Extends in one direction without
end.

What is a collinear points?  Collinear points are points that lie

on the same line.
What is a coplanar points?  Coplanar points are any three
points combination that are in the
same plane.

Very good!

Do you have any questions about our

last topic? No, sir.

Alright!

C. Motivation
Okay class, now I have here a set of
pictures or figures here. All you want to do
is to observe and identify the figures.

So now, what do you think is our

lesson for today?

D. Presentation
This morning we are going to discuss
about angles in which you are expected
to: define and identify the different types
of the angle, classify angles according to
their measures, and solve problems
involving angles.
E. Discussion

Angle
 Angle is a union of two non-
collinear rays with common end
point.
 The two non-collinear are the sides
of the angle.
 Their common end point called
vertex.

Example:

Degrees (° ¿
 The unit used in measuring an
angle.

Example: 50° , 63°

-Symbol of an Angle

Kinds of Angles
1. Acute Angle
 Measures more than 0° but less than
90°

Example:

2. Right Angle
 Measures exactly 90°

Example:

3. Obtuse Angle
 Measures more than 90° but less than
180°

Example:
4. Straight Angle
 Measures exactly 180°

Example:

5. Reflex angle
 Measures more than 180° but less
than 360°

Example:

F. Developing Mastery
Now, I will call a random student and I
will show you a random types of angle
and you will identify what angle it is.
Yes sir.
Understood?

Okay, good.
1. Acute Angle

2. Right Angle

3. Straight Angle

4. Obtuse Angle

5. Reflex Angle

6. Reflex Angle

Any questions or clarifications? No sir.

Okay, very good!

G. Application

So now, get ½ sheet of paper. Answer this

individual.
Directions: State or identify what kind of
angle.
1. Acute Angle 6. Acute Angle
1. 45° 6. 10° 2. Reflex Angle 7. Reflex Angle
2. 190° 7. 210° 3. Right Angle 8. Obtuse Angle
3. 90° 8. 95° 4. Acute Angle 9. Obtuse Angle
4. 50° 9. 105° 5. Straight Angle 10. Obtuse Angle
5. 180° 10. 175°
Are you done? Yes sir.

Okay, good.

H. Generalization

A while ago, we discussed about Angle.  Angle is a union of two non-

point.
 The two non-collinear are the
sides of the angle.
 Their common end point called

What is an Acute Angle?
It measures more than 0° and less than 90° .
How about the right, obtuse, straight and

reflex angle?
Obtuse angle – measures more than 90° and less
than 180° .
Straight angle – measures exact 180°
Reflex angle – measures more than 180° but less
than 360°

Very good!

Do you have any questions?

No sir.

Okay good.

I. Evaluation

Now I want you to get a 1/2 sheet of

paper.
Directions: Observe and identify what
kind of angle, if it is an Acute angle,
Right angle or Obtuse angle.
Yes sir.
You have to answer it individually.
Understood?

1. Acute angle
2. Right angle
3. Acute angle
4. Obtuse angle

J. Assignment

What is supplementary angles,

complementary angles, congruent angles,
vertical angles, adjacent angles, linear
pairs, perpendicular lines, and parallel
lines.
