Instructions
Solve the problem asked in a clear, legible and understandable way, by hand, in your
notebook. However, you may use a spreadsheet to solve the problem but you should paste
screenshots of the solution process instead. In order to deliver your work you should make
a copy of this document and return it to the instructor with your work in it. You should paste
a picture of your work in the document.

To deliver your work you should share the document with the instructor by uploading the
PDF document on the platform.

The problem
Consider the flow of water at 26C flowing through a K-type copper pipe of 2 inch ND. The
water travels at 0.25 m^3/min and the pipe length is 30m. Since you want to see how the
Bernoulli equation works the pressure difference p1-p2 is to be calculated for different cases.

1. Pressure at 1, p1, is located at z1=0m while p2 is at z2=20m.

2. Pressure at 1, p1, is located at z1=20m while p2 is at z2=0m.
3. Points of pressure measurement are located over a horizontal pipe. This is, z1=z2.

Give your answer in Pa.

Hint:

1. You will probably need the Bernoulli equation.

2. Proceed analytically.
