One strength of our project to enhance the impact of the opportunity for the elderly to improve
their mental health is that our interventions not only convince the target audience to do what we
suggest but also provide them with the means to do so. This eliminates any possibility that the
target audience would be reluctant to act and change their existing habits due to not knowing
how or lacking opportunities. Our skits in our Elderstop intervention convince the elderly that
their existing solitary lifestyle is unhealthy by sharing how extended isolation could cause
cognitive decline and mental illnesses, and emphasise the importance of mental health.
Meanwhile, the activities in our Elderstop intervention, as well as the virtual void deck in our
Goodlifers! intervention empowers and allows the elderly to actively take steps to change their
solitary lifestyle habits by discovering more activities they are passionate about, and increasing
social interactions by chatting with their existing friends or meeting potential friends in the
vicinity.

On the other hand, our proposal's weakness is our Goodlifers! app may result in elderly people
becoming more reclusive. Since our app offers ways for the elderly to learn new activities,
interact with friends, and obtain hobby supplies all from the comfort of their homes, the elderly
might become unhealthily reclusive, staying at home online rather than going outside. This
could exacerbate the risks of the elderly losing touch with society, and other health risks of a
sedentary lifestyle. To help solve this problem, we could arrange for scheduled trips to various
parts of Singapore, such as to museums or parks, regularly. These trips could be advertised
both on our Goodlifers! app and through social workers going door to door using user location
data from our app, collected when suggesting potential friends in the area. This could
encourage the elderly to go out more, helping them to remain healthy.

On further analysis, the online ordering function for hobby materials is part of our Goodlifers!
Intervention can also be applied to helping the general public purchase daily necessities quickly.
Both the elderly and people in the neighborhoods are in need of buying small and cheap items,
although the elderly require such a service due to them being unaware of where the items might
be sold, while the general public might view getting the items themselves as troublesome, with
conventional grocery delivery services also lacking in terms of speed A delivery service could
hence solve this by reaching out to heartland shops and small businesses nearest to the
neighborhood location of the buyer, where the shops would send an employee to deliver the
goods to the buyer and accept their payment at the door, booming businesses for these
often-overlooked businesses too. To make the delivery service more suitable for this purpose,
the item value limit could be replaced with an item weight limit to ensure quick and safe delivery,
and the items will be delivered by heartland shop employees rather than social workers.
