Minjia Poncho
Abbreviations: k=knit, p=purl, m1r= make one right, m1l= make one left
m= marker, slm= slip marker, pm= place marker, co= cast on, bo=bind off

Please, use 4 markers, 2 of a different color or shape.

Color/shape A & B = markers: 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B.
After you have slipped the last marker(1A), you are ready to start the next
round.
Circular needles, at least 100cm/40” long.
Co= Even number of sts + 10= 5sts+odd no. of sts+ 5sts+ odd no. of sts.
*Gauge: 14sts. and 20rows= 4"/10cm on US10/6mm in stockinette st.
Gauge is not critical.
'Minjia Poncho' pattern can be adapted to different yarn weights and various
sizes.

*Co 92 sts. (magic loop)

Join in a round without twisting, pm(1A).

The collar/ turtleneck/ cowl:

*K1, P1* repeat from *to*, slip the marker as you go.
Knit up 5-30cm/2-12 inches, depending on your individual design.

Set up rounds:
K5, pm(1B) , k41, pm(2A), k5, pm(2B) , k41, slm(1A).
Round 1: K1, p1, k1, p1, k1, slm, k41, slm, k1, p1, k1, p1, k1, slm,
k41, slm.
Round 2: K5, slm, m1l, k41, m1r, slm, k5, slm, m1l, k41, m1r, slm.

Pattern rounds:
Round 1: K1, p1, k1, p1, k1, slm, k until next m , slm, k1, p1, k1, p1, k1,
slm, k until next m , slm.

Round 2: K5, slm, m1l, k until next m, m1r, slm, k5, slm, m1l, k until next m,
m1r, slm.

Repeat rounds 1&2 until you are happy with the size of your poncho.
Please save enough yarn for the last seven rounds and bo round.

Finish:
Round 1: *K1, p1* repeat **all around. Slip all markers as you go.
Round 2: K all sts, slip the markers as you go.
Repeat rounds 1&2 two times.
Knit round 1 one more time, remove all markers as you go.
Bo loosely.

Weave in ends, soak, squeeze out excessive moisture sensitively.

Shake gently.
Allow to dry flat.
