1. JOURNEY DETAILS
The Department of Business Management, St. Joseph’s college Devagiri had
organized an industrial visit on 26/08/22 to Kaynes Technology India Private
Ltd, Mysore, India which is a leading domestic player in the Electronics System
& Design Manufacturing Services.
• The industrial visit was organized for the final year students of BCom
Professional, BBA Honours and BBA.
• The intention of visit was to give students a practical exposure to the
functional areas of management in a production unit.
• The Head of Department and five teachers accompanied the students. There
were 139 students in the group.
• All the arrangements were done by the IV Club of the department led by
Ms. Sheethal, Assistant Professor.
The students boarded the bus at the college gate on Friday, 26 th August,2022, at
9.30 p.m. The team reached the hotel at Mysore where the arrangement for
freshening up was done by 7.15 am the next day, 27th August,2022, Saturday.
After the freshening up and breakfast, the team started to the destination. Initially
a visit was made to PlanetEarth aquarium maintained by the owners of Kaynes
Technology. It had a wide variety of fishes, birds and other pet animals and also
some adventure sports. Students had good entertainment there. From there the
team proceeded to Kaynes Technology.
2. COMPANY PROFILE
Kaynes Technology is a leading end-to-end and IoT solutions-enabled integrated
electronics manufacturer in India with capabilities across the entire spectrum of
ESDM (Electronic System Development and Maintenance) services. Kaynes
has over three decades of experience in providing Conceptual Design, Process
Engineering, Integrated Manufacturing and Life Cycle Support for major players
in the Automotive, Industrial, Aerospace and Defence, Outer-space, Nuclear,
Medical, Railways, Internet of Things, Information Technology and other
segments. The organization has advanced manufacturing infrastructure that
enable us to manufacture products at variable or flexible volumes across all

4. Quality checking is done in the next stage which checks the printing
condition
5. The next process is done by a Pick and Place machine which mounts
various components into the board where the solder paste is printed already.
The whole process is programmed with software.
6. The PCB is passed to the reflow process which is carried out with
temperature control where the solder paste is melted and joins the PCB and
components.
7. In the next process, the AOI (Automatic Optical Inspection) checks the
soldering conditions of the product.
A product layout is followed in SMT where the machines are arranged in the
order of the processing. It follows an assembly line production.
The PCB is again processed catering to the requirements of specific customers.
Process layout is followed at this stage. The grouping is done based on the
processes to be carried out.

3.1 Inventory control
The officials mentioned that they are following Just In Time (JIT) production.
Sector specific output is designed for various purposes. The raw material is
supplied by the client according to their product, time, quality and budget
specification. For certain raw material, temperature has to be set at certain level
in store for smooth functioning.
3.2 Quality Control
The ability to identify and resolve quality-related issues quickly and efficiently is
essential to anyone working in quality assurance or concerned with process
