About the Literature Works of the Nineteenth Century

“English literature is a flying fish”- Edward Morgan Forster

The nineteenth-century was often considered a tremendous revolution, indeed in the


development of English literature. During this period, instead of being despised, came to be
regarded by many writers as a revolution of literature. Writers invented what then called as a
revolution of literature, first thing first, was romantic poets which came up as self’s
expression and individual feeling. Along with the turmoil that hit the society, the literary
works were also influenced by the revolt against the eighteenth-century. They were affected
to be something much radical according to certain rules and traditions.

In the early 19th century, many writers created objected rules to a work of literature.
Here, the romantic poet arose to be popular not only as a movement of literary work but also
as a response to scenes either situations of ordinary life, particularly in rural areas.
Romanticism also considered as a reflection of individual imagination with all of the self-
liberties.

Later on, much of English literature was undergone by heart, and vividly expressed
the historical imaginations of the writers. This is because some major historical events that
came up during the late of nineteenth-century. As the changing society was impressively
happening during the reign of Queen Victoria, the works of literature were also transforming
– adjusting to new ideas of religion and sciences, and subsequently to a changing world that
brought reformations to Britain’s civilization.
