VACANT POSITIONS

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), a leading professional Organization in Nigeria with over fifty
thousand members is desirous of recruiting competent, self-motivated and result-oriented candidates to
fill the vacant positions listed below. The location of employment is the National Engineering Centre,
Abuja.

A. JOB TITLE: DEPUTY DIRECTOR ADMIN AND HUMAN RESOURCES


Job Responsibilities
• Coordinate all administrative activities that relate to NSE organization personnel
• Handle staffing issues
• Direct administrative functions of the human resource unit
• Identify and coordinate the Staff Training Needs
• Function as the secretary to the Appointments, Promotions, and Disciplinary Committee (APDC)
• Determine from time-to-time staff welfare
• Ensure adequate maintenance of the secretaries’ vehicles and office equipment
• Carrying out other duties as assigned by the Executive Secretary
• Conduct staff recruitment and discipline of all staff
• Provide and ensure the overall efficiency and personnel support of all department
Qualifications
a) Promotion of Chief Admin Officer who spent three years of satisfactory service on the post
registered with relevant Professional bodies.
b) A degree in any of the Humanities or Social Science plus NYSC or exemption certificate with
fifteen years cognate experience registered with relevant Professional bodies
c) A master's degree in any of the Humanities or Social Science with twelve years of cognate
experience registered with relevant Professional bodies
Remuneration
NSE GL 13/step 1 (N939, 919. 00 – N1, 446, 024.00)
The remuneration shall be as in the Nigerian Society of Engineers Employee manual.

B. Job Title: Principal System Analyst Computer Programmer, IT Office


Job Responsibilities:
• Managing IT budgets, forecast, handling cash flow and enforcing cost-effectiveness •
• Evaluating risk, developing network recovery and backup processes
• Assessing and purchasing new and replacement hardware
• Assuring that IT activities are within the limits of applicable laws, codes and regulations
• Testing, troubleshooting and adjusting information systems to operate effectively
• Implementing security of the network, data and its storage and communication systems
• Manage Data Analytics (collection, transformation, and organization of data in order to draw
conclusions, make predictions, and drive informed decision-making)
• Manage and maintain/update the Secretariat's Website
• Manage Secretariat's mail system
• Manage and maintain the operating systems of the Secretariat
• Educate and support end-users on the Secretariat's applications
• Develop required documentation of operational procedures on applications
• Ensure database integrity and security
• Manage access permission and privileges
• Liaise with vendors to maintain and upgrade the application software
• Supervise daily operations of network and server infrastructure
• Aligning IT infrastructure with current and future business requirements and goals
• Maintain a highly reliable helpdesk and local technical support
• Carry out other duties assigned by the Executive Secretary
• Design and develop websites
• Design, develop, and manage web applications
• Design and manage various application

Qualifications
a) Promotion of Snr. Sys. Analyst/Comp/Programmer who spent three years of satisfactory
service on the post and registered with relevant professional bodies.
b) A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering
plus NYSC or exemption certificate with nine years cognate experience and registered with
relevant professional bodies.
c) A Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics
Engineering plus NYSC or exemption certificate with six years cognate experience and
registered with relevant professional bodies.

Remuneration
NSE GL 10/step 1 (N475, 440. 00 – N736, 932.00)
The remuneration shall be as in the Nigerian Society of Engineers Employee manual.

C. Job Title: Senior System Analyst Computer Programmer, IT Officer

Job Responsibilities:
• Act as first-lines support for all application issues.
• Document all operational procedures and keep the secretariat operating instructions updated at
all times.
• Maintain a knowledge base of all known application issues.
• Define and document User Acceptance Test (UAT)case scenarios/plan for application fixes in
liaison with business function and ensure all application changes are change managed.
• Fully Support the secretariat with the application parameters maintenance adhering to the
parameterization change process.
• Amend data anomalies resulting from system malfunction and service requests upon necessary
authorization and change management.
• Identify and resolve operational problems Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems.
• Implement security standards (access controls, segregation of duties, usage and exception
monitoring)
• Manage and maintain/update the Secretariat's Website
• Manage Secretariat's mail system
• Manage and maintain the operating systems of the Secretariat
• Educate and support end-users on the Secretariat's applications
• Develop required documentation of operational procedures on applications Ensure database
integrity and security
• Mange access permission and privileges
• Carry out other duties assigned by the Head, IT, and Executive Secretary
Qualifications
a) Promotion of Sys. Analyst/Comp/Programmer I who spent three years of satisfactory service on the post.
b) A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering plus NYSC
or exemption certificate with six years cognate experience.
c) A Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering
plus NYSC or exemption certificate with three years cognate experience.
Remuneration
NSE GL 9/step 1 (N408, 382. 00 – N632, 992.00)
The remuneration shall be as in the Nigerian Society of Engineers Employee manual.
D. Job Title: Admin Officer II

Job Responsibilities:
▪ Attend promptly to personnel issues/requests and refer to Unit and Department Heads if
necessary
▪ Assist in general staff recruitment, training, welfare promotion, discipline and all staff matters
▪ Assist in comprehensive personnel information database system including up-to-date
documentation of staff welfare records
▪ Prepare reports as required by the Director, Corporate Services
▪ Conduct periodic compensation and benefit surveys for benchmarking purposes
▪ Assist in Identifying staff training and make appropriate recommendations
▪ Assist in general staff recruitment, training, welfare promotion, discipline and all staff matters
▪ Ensure adequate recording and update of personnel information
▪ Carry out other duties assigned by the Executive Secretary
Qualifications
a) A degree in any of the Humanities or Social Science plus NYSC or exemption certificate
Remuneration
NSE GL 7/step 1 (N 338,381.00 – N524, 490.00)
The remuneration shall be as in the Nigerian Society of Engineers Employee manual.
