Nowadays, with the use of technology, the modern problems of most students right now
are too much information and less time to digest and appreciate the learnings they gain
through the experiences and discoveries. Sometimes in order to comply with the requirements,
we swiftly brush the lessons, discussion, videos, and activities without really asking if you
genuinely absorbed the information you received from the past few weeks.

This activity for our SMILE this month seeks to somehow resolve those dilemmas
mentioned. It is imperative that before we apply and live out the learnings we gained – we
must instill the love for learning that we aim to cultivate day by day. And we cannot love what
we learned if we don’t give some time or energy for it. Learning, like love, is a conscious
decision. We must commit to it in order to fully appreciate its meaning and value for us
Learning can be tedious, but if we align ourselves with what we want and what we have right
now perhaps we can see an improvement on how we value and take learning every day. It
just takes some matter of perspective to pause on what you’ve been learning.

Instructions:
For this learning packet, there will be two activities that you will work on.
A. First, with the use of your social media. Follow three people/influencers that you wanted
to learn from. Treat them as your mentor. Inspect their posts-what, how they are posting.
Who are they trying to communicate with? What is their stand on some of the things
that is happening in their society? Do this for the next 5-days (weekdays preferably) and
track what you’ve learned using the journal below. You just need one new learning
every day from any of these chosen social media influencers. It doesn’t need to be
purely academic. It could be life skills, realizations, emotional and mental health
awareness.

B. Screen Time Check: The development and consumption of internet technology offers
various benefits and blessings to many. But for some, if used incorrectly/unwisely, can
be led to their demised and a curse that leads them to hate the over experience of the
technology.
Reflect on your internet consumption. Pay attention on the things that you want to
focus or deal with. Let’s treat it as technology diet. For the next 7 days, try and monitor
the content streaming activities you have made.

o Record the amount of time you spend daily in front of a ‘screen’ for one week. Identify
the type of screen activities you participate in daily. Examples of screen type activities
include playing on a computer, watching TV, playing video games, using a cell phone,
etc.
o Record the amount of time you engage in physical activity daily and the type of
activities you participate in for one week.
