Duration: 5 minutes Language: Hindi and English Summary: The 34th edition of Surajkund International Crafts Mela opened its gates to the vast audience eager to immerse themselves in a plethora of experiences. The mela is organized, hosted and executed by the Surajkund Mela Authority in collaboration with the Union Ministries of Tourism, Textiles, Culture, External Affairs, Department of Tourism, Government of Haryana and Haryana Tourism Cooperation. The current theme state of the fair was Gujarat. Gujarat is an unending array of places to visit and lose oneself in. Artistry characterizes Gujarat and it manifests itself in many exquisite handicrafts that best showcase Gujarat’s traditions. One of the highlights of this year was the focus on sustainable and eco-friendly practices. Another significant feature of the day was scintillating fashion show which showcased different textiles, embroidery styles and craftsmanship techniques. It also offered a culinary delight through the diverse flavors of India. From street food to authentic regional cuisines, there was something to excite every palate. In addition to this, folk performances, dance recitals and live music concerts kept the audience entertained throughout the day while the adventurous souls explored amusement rides and explored recreational activities. As dusk descended, the grounds transformed into a pageant of lights and colors. With its celebration, art and culture, Surajkund Mela once again proved to be a amalgamation of creativity and diversity.
