Release notes for version 5.2.

Update to AxDeviceInterfaces.dll to correct issues outlined in TB-048.

WARNING: This update is only for 5.2.1. If the currently installed version is not 5.2.1, do not proceed
until it has been upgraded. Contact Maxxess Customer Service if an upgrade is required.

Issues resolved in this release


1. Fixed issue where an eMAX-EP area controller may activate/deactivate any action that is controlled by
a schedule late, typically 1 hour. See TB-048.
2. Fixed issue where an eMAX-EP area controller would not report “Unlocked” message for doors that are
unlocked after a Door Forced or Door Held open event occurred.
3. Improved performance with Remote Interface and MultiPort.

Installation Instructions
The “AxDeviceInterfaces.dll” supplied in this service release must be installed on any eAXxess/eFusion
workstation that is running a MultiPort that communicates with eMAX-EP area controllers.

1. Extract the “AxDeviceInterfaces.dll” file to a location that can be accessed from all workstations that
require the update.

Perform the following steps at each workstation until all required workstations are updated.

2. Open the MultiPort Manager, and click on the “Service” button.


3. Select the “Stop” option.
4. Open the “C:\Program Files\Maxxess\AXxess Workstation\Bin\” folder, and rename the
“AxDeviceInterfaces.dll” to be “521_AxDeviceInterfaces.dll”
5. Copy the “AxDeviceInterfaces.dll” from the location in step one above to the “C:\Program
Files\Maxxess\Axxess Workstation\Bin\” folder.
6. Select the “Start” option in the MultiPort Manager Service window.

Known Issues in this release


1. eMAX-EP Doors that are unlocked manually or by schedule will be relocked after making a change to
the door mode (such as changing the unlock time, or enabling keypad or 2 badge mode, etc.).
2. If the PC Clock / Time Zone are adjusted, the “Download holidays” command should be executed for
each eMAX-EP area controller. This command may be sent from the MultiPort Manager.
