How does the patient see the world

Glaucoma. Vision loss from glaucoma has traditionally been described as loss of “peripheral vision”.
Cataract. Blurry vision at any distance is the most
common symptom of cataracts.
Myopia (nearsightedness) causes distant objects to
be blurry while close objects appear normal.
Hypermetropia (farsightedness) results in close objects appearing blurry, while far objects may appear normal. As the condition worsens, objects at
all distances may be blurry.
Astigmatism results in distorted or blurred vision at any distance.
Retinal detachment is a disorder of the eye in which the retina separates from the layer underneath. Symptoms include an increase in the number of
floaters, flashes of light, and worsening of the outer part of the visual field. This may be described as a curtain over part of the field of vision.
