What is mental health to you? What does it feel like? What does it look like?

Mental Health to
some people looks gross, right? Mental illnesses are viewed as “okay” until a certain point, it’s
something not many people are very open about because of the way they get treated for it.
Some people even say that it isn’t real to have a mental illness. Some things I will be talking
about are how mental illnesses can affect the body, how they can affect social life, and how they
affect someone’s self-esteem.
Depression can affect the body by making the person physically sick. Your body gets sorta
weaker and it almost all feels a bit numb. This makes it very hard for people to do day-to-day
tasks. Like brushing your teeth, making your bed in the morning, and even showering. It feels
like having a “lazy” day every day. People don't seem to realize how hard it is to be able to get
up out of bed after not even wanting to be awake.
Depression can also affect the ways people are able to socialize, anxiety is one thing that
affects it greatly and mostly comes with depression. Being an introvert makes it harder to be
able to talk to people, it feels as if you are being rejected or even unwanted. It can hurt
everything around you because you aren't able to speak up. Depression is also able to affect
one's self-esteem, low self-esteem is linked to depression, anxiety, and even one’s thoughts to
find a harmful way of coping. It can affect how your social life as well, it can make you lose
confidence in yourself to be able to make more friends.
So next time you see someone struggling help them out because you never ever know what
someone is going through
