ANALOGY

Example 1: Just as a sword is the weapon of a warrior, a pen is the weapon of a writer.
What do you think is the relationship of the pen and the sword? Let us try to analyze the statement.
In the statement, notice that the sword is being compared to a pen since both share the same characteristic - they
both serve as a weapon.
Example 2: Raising children requires the same dedication you would give to a garden. Nurture them, feed them,
introduce them to both light and dark, and have patience; and soon you will see them grow into blooming wonders.
If you have observed, both the children and the garden require the same dedication of nurture which makes the two
ideas an example of analogy. The following sentence explains the qualities they share.
