2 Synopsis This course is intended to expose students on the importance of the use of Human Resource
Information System (HRIS) in activities relating to the management of human resources. Aspects such
as usage, issues and the important criterias of HRIS will also be discussed. Through this course,
students will be taught about steps in the automation of the management of human resources
beginning from planning of the system, designing of the system, selection of software vendor,
implementing the system up until maintenance and analysing the system. Students will also be
exposed to various types of software in the market apart from understanding the usage trend of HRIS
in Malaysia.
