l. Objectives:

a. Students will understand the concept of Division and it's relationship to sharing equally.

b. Students will use manipulative to model division problems and solve simple division

equations.

c. Students will demonstrate proficiency in dividing objects into equal groups using

manipulatives.

ll. Subject Matter

Topic: Exploring Division With mathematical Manipulative

Reference: Internet

Materials: Counting blocks or cubes number (0-20), White board and markers, Worksheet with Division
problems, Visual aid or illustration of sharing scenario (optional)

lll. Procedure

Teacher's Activity Student's Activity

Preliminary

a. Greatings

Good morning class! "Good morning ma'am"

b. Prayer

Before we start may we all stand up and pray.(The (The students will stand up and pray.)
teacher will pray )
(The students will pick up the pieces of paper and trash
Ok class, before you sit down; please pick up the pieces then the class will sit down.)
of paper and trash.

Good morning once again class.

Good morning teacher!
So how are you doing today?
(Different responses)
Well,Good then.
4.Checking of attendance

Are there any absents today? "None ma'am "

Very good!

C. Review

Before we begin to our lesson, let us have a recap on

our past lesson. So who can still recall out past lesson
yesterday?

So let's hear student A. "So our topic yesterday is all about multiplication"

Okay very good who can give example of

multiplication?
"1x4=4"
Yes?

So now let's move on to our next lesson. Are you ready

"Yes Ma'am "
to listen kids?

2. Motivation
(All students will raise their hands)
Okay class,who wants prizes?

So many of you want prizes.Well I have a blocks or cube

in the table. Before we proceed to game I discuss
first. So class this symbol is divide. When we say divide or
Division is a math operation that helps us share things
equally or find out how many groups we can make with
a certain amount of items.Let's say you have 10 candies
and you want to share them equally among 2 friends.
You can use division to figure out how many candies
each friend will get.

So, 10 candies divided by 2 friends equals 5 candies for

each friend.

In other words, division helps us split things into equal

parts or groups. It's like sharing or dividing things fairly
among people.

Did you get it class?

Very good class let's proceed then I demonstrate first.

Yes,Teacher!
(The teacher demonstrate how to divide the number.)

2÷2 =1
4÷2 =2

3÷3=1

Class how about this 4÷4 =?

Verry good

Another one class 4÷2=?

Very good class since you know how to divide a number

let's proceed to the game are you ready class?

I going to divide you in 4 group class, 5 member in one

group it's clear class?

The group who got perfect score will win a prize of I box
of chocolate and the group who got low score will get 5
Yes, Teacher!
star.

Are you excited class?

Yes, teacher!
12🟦÷12🟦=?
Who is representative in group 1?

12🟪÷6🟪=?
Who is representative in group 2?

6⬜÷2⬜=?
Who is representative in group 3? Yes, Teacher!

4🟥÷2🟥=?
Who is representative in group 4?
"No ma'am "
8🟧÷4🟧=?
Who is representative in group 5?
"Yes Ma'am"
Ok class since your done let's go to in front and show
the answer of every group.

Very good class all your answer is correct . Since all

answers in every group is correct all of you has got a
prize. Group 1:1
Group 2:2
Group 3:3
3. Presentation Group 4:2
Group 5:2
Do you know what division means and when it is used
in real life?

So, today they will be exploring division using

manipulatives .

Are you ready?

4. Lesson Propper

Division is the process of sharing equally or dividing a

group of objects into equal parts.

It helps you, students to understand the concept of

fair sharing and introduces them to basic division
equations.

Example of this are

Sharing Equally: there are 12 candies, and 4 friends "Yes Ma'am"

want to share them equally.

(Students learn that they can divide the 12 candies into

4 equal groups, giving each friend 3 candies)

The division equation is 12 ÷ 4 = 3.

Grouping Objects: (Students might be asked to group a

certain number of objects into equal groups)

For example, they may need to arrange 20 blocks into 5

equal groups. They would learn that 20 ÷ 5 = 4, so each
group would have 4 blocks.

Do you understand class?

5. Exploration

I have here the counting blocks or cubes and you will

explain what they will be using these manipulatives to
model division problems.

You will group divided in different numbers of blocks

into equal groups and count how many blocks are in
each group.
Understand? "Yes ma'am"

6. Generalization

So class, what is Division means? Division is process of sharing or grouping objects

equally among a certain number of people or groups.

Okay Very good.

Evaluation

So class, I will divide you into small groups.

I will give the number cards and counting blocks to each

group.

1. There are 12 apples. Share them equally among 3 "There are 4 apples each."
friends. How many apples does each friend get?

2. Sarah has 15 stickers. She wants to divide them

equally into 5 bags. How many stickers will be in each "There are 3 stickers"
bag?

3. There are 18 pencils. If they are divided into 6 equal

"There are 3 pencil each group"
groups, how many pencils will be in each group?

4. Divide 20 blocks into 4 equal groups. How many

blocks are in each group? "There are 5 blocks in each group."

5. Amy has 24 marbles. She wants to put them in 8 jars.

How many marbles will be in each jar?
"There are 3 marbles in each jar"
Are you done? Class.

"Yes ma'am"

Assignment.

Asnwer these Word Problem

1. John has 24 trading cards. He wants to put them in

folders with 6 cards each. How many folders does he
need?

2. There are 35 apples. If they are divided equally into 7

baskets, how many apples will be in each basket?

3. Mary has 48 beads. She wants to put them into jars

with 8 beads each. How many jars does she need?
4. There are 56 pencils. If they are divided equally into 8
boxes, how many pencils will be in each box?

5. There are 60 candies. If they are shared equally

among 10 children, how many candies will each child
get?
