Task scenario

Biometric payment system.

Let us imagine that the city and municipality of Wrocław is planning to introduce a biometric
payment system on a widespread basis in its territory. It will be able to pay all municipal
payments, public transport tickets, car parks, entrance tickets, but also commercial ones, as
entities and service providers will be encouraged to install the payment system.
How it works: You download the app (PayEye type), create an account, take a selfie, plug in
your payment card. Then, when you want to pay for something, you just scan your face.
[Such payments are possible at the SKS café - you can go there and see an example of a
payment terminal].
Your task is to develop and carry out a survey on potential user’s preferences.
How to complete the task:
I. Develop a questionnaire and carry out the survey.
Develop a short survey/questionnaire on users’ preferences. Then survey the selected group of
respondents. If anonymous survey with closed questions, min.10 people; if interview with
open questions, min. 3-5 people.
Compile the survey results.
Produce a report that includes a description of the micro-study conducted (including the
content of the survey/interview questions) and a description and summary of the results
obtained.
II. At a certain stage of work give it for the peer review (there will be instructions on that).
III. Having received the peer-review, decide how to include it in your final report.

It is advisable to ask for the peer-review just after developing the questionnaire, but before
collecting the responses (so to modify the questions if necessary). But, it can be also done at
the very end of completing the task.
Explain the distribution of workload in the group.
