healthy and give us a big impact or effect in our daily living. If
we have a healthy body, you and I can do our daily chores on
a daily basis.

F. Discussion of the Lesson

Teacher discusses the characteristics of a healthful home
environment.

Teacher says: A healthy home and a healthy environment

makes the people healthy. It is important to
keep the home clean because health has a
great impact on people's means of livelihood
or living. Our jobs require a perfect body to do
the right kind of work.

There are two (2) characteristics of a healthy home or home

environment.
1. Clean water

Water is important for our body. This will give more energy
especially when we have work to do. Water cleans the dirt
from our body. It is important that the water we drink is clean
so that we can avoid disease.

The following are the effects of drinking clean water:

a. Cleanses the body.

b. Keeps us away from the disease.

c. We can't get dehydrated.

d. It helps give strength to the body.

e. Beautifies the skin.

f. Helps the kidneys.

g. It helps us to ease our digestion.

Drinking clean water can have different effects that help your
health. You should drink eight (8) glasses of water or more to
avoid illness and keep your health healthy.

Drinking water must be kept clean so that we can avoid

diseases caused by dirty water. Because when we are sick, we
cannot do our daily work.

Following are some methods to keep water clean at home:

The water container must have a lid so that dirt does not enter
it, the water must be boiled to kill the bacteria in the water,
keep toxic and harmful chemicals away from the water
container.

It is important that the hand holding the water container is

clean and the water container should be washed thoroughly.
All this should be done to prevent us from waterborne disease.
We cannot live without water. We use water for almost every
task. We drink, we bathe, we wash, we pour/water on the
plants, we wash the dishes and so on. We must save water so
that it is not wasted because it is used in our daily activities and
to preserve water for future generations.

The following are some of the methods that we can save

water.

1. Use a glass when brushing your

teeth.

2. The water used for washing, can be

used to flush the toilet/CR.
3. Water containers should not have
holes.

4. Do not waste water or play with

water.

We must be economical in using water so that we can

preserve it and not waste it because it is used in our daily
activities.

2. Clean indoor air- air that is inside the house.

The air that enters our house has a great impact on our health.
The air we breathe must be clean so that we can have good
health.

Indoor air is the air inside the house such as: cooking smoke,
cigarette smoke, paint odors, chemical odors, etc.
There are effects of smelling dirty indoor air that can harm our
health. The air we breathe must be clean so that we can have
good health.

To keep the air inside our home clean or indoor air, let's avoid
things that pollute it.

The environment of the house must be healthy so that those

who live in it are away from disease. Because if the home
environment is clean, with clean water and air, the people
living inside the house are also healthy.

Cleaning our individual homes is very important because the

health of the home has a great impact on the health of the
people who live in it. Each one of us should help keep the
home clean and healthy.
