EGYCOAT 100 ZR

PRODUCT EGYCOAT 100 ZR Fully thixotropic zircon containing water-base mould dressing
DESCRIBTION

APPLICATIONS EGYCOAT 100 ZR is an excellent mould and core dressing for high quality casting
for steel, cast iron, copper and nickel base alloys and very effective where conditions
promoting severe erosion prevail.
EGYCOAT 100 ZR cannot be applied by dipping, but is ideal as a non-drip coating
for over pouring, brushing and swabbing.
Fine adjustment of EGYCOAT 100 ZR consistency by adding up to 10% water can
help in minimizing metal penetration in the mould and core surfaces.

ADVANTAGES
 It is non-drip thixotropic dressing but still flows easily.
 Drying is very convenient and any method can be adopted without cracking or blistering
of the coating.
 Low direct cost as single coating may be applied due to high zircon content that gives
good covering power.
 It is not subjected to sedimentation and hence no remixing is required which means low
indirect cost. Excellent surfaces finish castings and hence reduced fettling costs.

INSTRUCTION  EGYCOAT 100 ZR is not recommended for dipping applications. The unique characteristics of
EGYCOAT 100 ZR can optimally be utilized when it is applied as supplied, by brush, swab or
spray. Simple blowguns may not by suitable, but spray guns are perfectly satisfactory specially if
the dressing container includes an agitator. Generally, dilution with water is not recommended,
but if case spraying difficulties are encountered up to 10% water by weight can be added.
 EGYCOAT 100 ZR can be applied to all sand moulds with the exception of self or gas
hardened silicate-bonded sands.
 EGYCOAT 100 ZR has excellent drying properties after applications and most methods can be
used without cracking or spelling of the dressing. It is tolerant against temperature variation
during storage.
