1. Executive Summary:
We appreciate the opportunity to submit a proposal for the development and design of a new
interactive website for the Refugee Consortium of Kenya (RCK). Our team is committed to
creating a visually appealing, user-friendly website that aligns with RCK's goals and
enhances the overall online experience for its users.

2. Understanding of the Assignment:


2.1 Purpose:
Our primary goal is to develop and design an innovative website prioritizing an excellent user
experience. This involves creating visually appealing and easy-to-navigate visuals that
engage visitors effectively.
2.2 Specific Objectives:
i. New Look and Feel:
- Design a new look-and-feel capturing outlined functionalities.
- Ensure consistent visual language with fixed styles in templates.
- Adapt new templates to homepage, sections, subsections, and specific components.
- Include standard page elements for consistency.
- Guarantee automatic capture of the most recent content on the homepage.

ii. Functionalities in New Templates:


- Add feed links for updated content.
- Implement responsive design for optimal viewing on various devices.
- Integrate social sharing features, including Twitter share and feed.
- Support multiple page styles and custom post types.
- Include language options in resources and guidance templates.
- Implement advanced search functions for news, publications, resources, events, etc.
- Design an interactive map, signup forms, and link with RCK's Client Management System.
- Develop online forms with a captcha system to reduce spam.
- Include payment features for fundraising through payment gateways.
iii. Mobile Optimization:
Ensure the website is fully responsive and optimized for smartphones.

iv. Knowledge Transfer:


- Develop a comprehensive user manual.
- Conduct training for support staff and administrators on content upload, system
maintenance, and administration.

v. Support and Maintenance:


- Provide a prototype for user testing and acceptance.
- Offer administrative and technical support for 2 months post-launch.

vi. Source Code Handover:


Hand over the full source code, including developed libraries, to RCK's Research and
Knowledge Management department.

vii. Security:
Embed all necessary security aspects on the website.

3. Expected Outputs:
- A visually enhanced website with improved functionalities.
- User manual and training for support staff and administrators.
- Administrative and technical support for 2 months.
- Full source code handover.

4. Methodology:
We propose a detailed methodology, including project planning, development phases, testing,
and client feedback loops. Regular updates and milestones will be communicated for
transparency and client involvement.
5. Ethics:
We commit to ethical data collection practices, ensuring the privacy and consent of human
subjects if primary data collection is proposed.

6. Key Deliverables and Timeframe:


The proposed timeline for key deliverables allows for quality assurance by RCK, with
flexibility to accommodate necessary adjustments. Regular progress updates and milestone
achievements will be communicated.
