Assignment

" Faith is an entirely free gift that God makes to man. We can lose this priceless
gift, as St. Paul indicated to St. Timothy: ‘Wage the good warfare, holding faith
and a good conscience. By rejecting conscience, certain persons have made
shipwreck of their faith.’ To live, grow and persevere in the faith until the end
we must nourish it with the word of God; we must beg the Lord to increase our
faith; it must be ‘working through charity,’ abounding in hope, and rooted in
the faith of the Church.
(Catechism of the Catholic Church, 162)

Faith and life are pivotal themes in your catechetical Textbook, “On the Path of
Salvation - 12: Christian Life in the Church & Society”. In the course of the year, you
have deeply discussed in your classes the about the importance of Catholic faith and the
challenges it faces in the modern world. As mature Catholics it is now your duty to
raise awareness among your brethren.

You have been asked to create an information booklet that can be used in your
parish/diocese to educate the fellow parishioners/diocesan members about the
particularity and importance of Catholic faith and the challenges that the Catholic
faith encounters in this contemporary world. You may choose any THREE challenges
that you think are relevant and raise awareness about the chosen challenges in your
information booklet.

The booklet must discuss the uniqueness and importance of the Catholic faith, the
challenges against the Catholic faith, and offer possible solutions to the challenges.
Guidelines

• The booklet must be in A4 format and must contain a minimum of 5 pages including
the front and back cover.
• All submissions must be in PDF or Microsoft word format. No other formats or
physical copies are allowed for submission.
• Your chosen topic must be researched well and your assignment should not be a
mere reproduction of your textbook.
• You may use case studies, statistical analysis, anecdotes, news reports, etc. relating
to your chosen challenges.

Submission

Due: 15 APRIL 2022

The assignment is to be submitted to your respective class teacher.

You must include your NAME, MASS CENTRE and TEACHER’S NAME in the submission.
Assignments submitted without your personal information will not be eligible for
evaluation.

Evaluation

The booklet will be evaluated on the basis of the following criteria:

● Focus of the presentation

● Clarity and coherence of the content
● Thoroughness of the ideas presented and a complete analysis of the topic
● Effective use of facts, statistics, references, etc…
● Design and layout of the booklet
● Effective use of images and posters
● Appropriate evidence of reading and research

NOTE: Marks will be awarded for personal engagement and reflection on the given topic.
