It was three years ago when I was having a good day on a journey with my friends.
One of my friends suggested going swimming but I couldn’t swim ,so I went to explore
the nearby forest . I was very happy, but later I became sad because I had got lost. I did
my best to find my friends but I couldn’t . I spent all night in the forest . During the night
I heard strange voices and I was scared . In the morning, my friends found me.
This event made me think about life more seriously.

A Short biography of someone you know or know about (p 75)
Omar was born in Damascus ,in 1949. He studied Art at the university of Damascus.
He made many exhibitions in Arab and European countries and was honored at a
number of international festivals . His works attract a great number of people all over
the world. He is a member of the artists union. He also took part in the international
exhibition , which aims to popularize and promote the ancient art . His works won’t be
forgotten. I think he is very skilful .

The most important technological changes that have affected people’s lives
recently ( p 93 ) .
Technological changes have a great importance in human life. They have developed
our societies. I’m going to talk about online booking which is the cheapest and quickest
way of buying train or airline tickets. It involves logging on to the internet , finding the
correct websites, typing in your travel requirements and personal details and paying by
credit card. This can be done without the need for any personal contact with the airline
or rail company. I think this technology will help a lot of people.

Most people enjoy reading about how some people become successful in their new
jobs. It’s very easy. The golden rule when you first start a job is to listen and learn from
colleagues. You can ask your colleagues if you aren’t sure about something and offer to
help them . You should work hard and you shouldn’t make up excuses for not doing
something. In the end , you will be happier and more successful if you get on well with
your coleagues.

Providing water is a major challenge. The increasing population has led to great
demands on all of our resources. People should support saving programs which
improve the irrigation systems in rural areas. They shouldn’t waste much water in
cleaning their cars.It’s a good idea to recycle waste water. In addition, we need to
reduce our consumption of water in the housework. This requires our awareness of the
great value of water.

Recommendations to improve life in your town or city. ( p 30 )

There are some recommendations that the government should do to improve life in
our city. We need more hospitals and schools so that the medical and educational
aspects can be improved. It’s a good idea to have more traffic lights that will reduce
accidents and save people lives. The government should also plant some trees which
will make our city more beautiful. I think there should be more parks for people. In my
opinion these improvements will attract tourists.

Description of a suitable place to live in. (p 69)
There is a beautiful villa I would like to live in . It’s in the countryside near a river . It
has got three rooms and two kitchens. There is also a big living room and a special room
for guests. There are some fruit trees outside where you can sit under them and there is
a farm where you can breed some animals. You don’t hear traffic noise there. It’s too
quiet. I think I will live in it one day.

The arguments for and against protecting wild animals. (activity book p 37)
Many people think that protecting wild animals is necessary because it helps to save
rare species . It is a good idea to build zoos which will help to save animals from
extinction . Environmentalists consider wild animals have an important part for the
beauty of nature .
However ,other people object protecting them . They think animals destroy forests and
crops for farmers. The main objection to protecting animals is that it’s unnatural to
protect them because we need their meat and fur.

Most people use fossil fuels like coal , gas and oil. When these fuels are burnt, they
produce large amounts of carbon dioxide and this keeps more of the sun’s heat in . The
result is that the temperature of the earth is rising year by year. This is leading to more
extreme weather. On the other hand , cutting down trees has an effect on climate
change. So, it can be said that the activities of human beings are the main cause of
climate change

A historical town or city in your country. ( activity book p 60)
Aphamia is an ancient site on the bank of the Orontes river. There are extensive
ruins which tourists can walk around and where they can learn about many different
civilisations. In the Roman city, there are enormous columns and high walls which are
amazing . There is also a citadel which has historical ruins . You can climb up some hills
to see beautiful views across Syria . This historical site refers to our rich history and I
advice all tourists to visit it .

What do you do to keep healthy ?( p 45 activity book)
Most people would like to keep healthy and they wonder What they will do. For me, I do
my best to improve my health. I do regular exercises and drink a glass of milk in the
morning .At school, I play volleyball and football with my friends. I go to school on foot. I
take the stairs instead of the lift.I follow a healthy diet and avoid eating randomly . I eat
less sugar and fat. I think these steps will help you to keep healthy.

Recommendations which will improve road safety in your town or city.(p 70
activity book)
There have been many accidents in recent years. I’m writing this report to make
recommendations which will reduce accidents in my city. It may be possible to stop
accidents. Firstly , roads should be made wider to allow vehicles to turn round and go
back the way they came. Secondly, more tunnels should be made to reduce traffic jam.
Thirdly , it will be a good idea to increase the number of traffic lights in the city. Finally,
drivers shouldn’t exceed the speed limit.

Do you think companies should allow their employees to use work computers for
their own purposes.(P 8 Activity book)
Employees will save time by using computers. Instead of leaving their work to do
shopping ,they can do that by computer during the work. In addition , employees can
contact their families at work . They will also become very skilled because they will use
computers for different purposes which will lead to the development of the society . And
when the company has skilled employees,it will have a good production. In my opinion ,
it’s a good idea to use computers for personal purposes

‫خالل العمل ‪.‬باالضافة الى ان الموظفين يمكنهم االتصال بعائالتهم وهم بالعمل‪ .‬سيصبحوا أيضا ماهرين جدا ألنهم‬
‫سيستخدموا الحواسيب ألهداف مختلفة والتي ستؤدي الى تطور المجتمع ‪ .‬وعندما الشركة تمتلك موظفين ماهرين ستمتلك‬
‫انتاج جيد ‪ .‬في رأيي ستكون فكرة جيدة ان تستخدم الحواسيب ألهداف شخصية‬
