• Before switching-on, the cabling of the Demo-case has to be proved of loose wires.
! • The case can be used in a 230V AC 50Hz network. The connection to another network,
e.g. USA/Canada, is only possible if the power supply is switched to the corresponding
range!
1.4. Functions
The SIPLUS RIC Demo-case demonstrates the application SIPLUS RIC IEC on S7. The parame-
terization of the ET200S occurs with the PC via SIMATIC STEP7. The PC act as a control center
(Master) using the program IEC-TEST. The parameterized ET200S is slave.
• Digital indications or analogue measurements can be stimulated on the simulation box and
displayed on IEC_Test
• Digital commands or analogue set points can be sent using IEC_Test and shown on the simu-
lation box.
• Application of telecontrol protocols IEC60870-5-101 (serial) or IEC60870-5-104 (TCP/IP)
• Demonstration of telecontrol on standard SIMATIC components
1.5. Connections
1.5.1 Settings
For parameterization, the CPU has to be connected with the PC with a standard LAN-cable.
The Cable is not in the scope of delivery.
After the parameterization the LAN-Cable will be needed for communication with the protocol
IEC60870-5-104.
In the operating mode, the cable that has to be used depends on the protocol:
IEC-60870-5-101: 9-pole SUB-D null modem cable from the SUB-D Interface of the simu-
lation box to the COM-Interface of the PC. The Cable is in the scope of delivery
• Connect the power cable with the rubber connector of the Demo-case and the power supply.
• Switch on the power switch (a control of the LED of the SIMATIC can be found in chapter 3.1).
Depending on the protocol that should be demonstrated or tested, either the null modem cable
(Protocol IEC60870-5-101) or the LAN-cable (Protocol IEC60870-5-104) is needed:
• Plug in the null modem cable between the COM-Port of the PC and the SUB-D Plug of the
simulator box
• Plug in the patch cable between the LAN interface of the PC and the P1 interface of the CPU.
The network settings of the PC have to be proved, whether the PC is in the same subnet as
the Demo-case.

Program-Data IEC-TEST
• Start the program IEC-TEST from a hard drive (IEC_TEST.exe). The following windows open:
With the Save/Load commands you can create or load different profiles. The program remembers
most of the last settings, even if the program is closed and opened again.
The buttons Start/Stop start respectively end the data transmission. The communication happens
according to the settings.
Button TI 100 Interrog. cmd: Value 0 is General Interrogation <>0 are part interrogations
Button TI 101 Counter irrog: Value 5 is the General counted measured request, 1...4 are group re-
quests

Box „IV-I“: time telegram with identifier “invalid time”
Box „send cycli“: Transmitting time telegram all x seconds
Box „PC-Time“: uses the time of the PC (Default)

Buttons TI 110 – TI 112: Transmit threshold TK110 to 112. Thresholds are adjustable.
In the window “Frame interpreter” all application telegrams are displayed. Nothing has to be ad-
justed in that window. It is just for the inspection of the telegrams.
Box „Suspend monitoring“ switches off the display of telegrams. The telegrams are buffered.
Box „discharge infos (don’t monitor)“ switches off the display of telegrams. The telegrams are de-
leted.
• The first column describes the point of time (PC-time) of the event.
This is not the timestamp of the telegram
• Direction:
Txd 1: transmitting from the control center to the RTU
Rxd 1: transmitting from the RTU to the control center

In normal case loading the profile “Protokoll_101.KFG” completes all necessary settings.

Now the test of SIPLUS RIC can be started. The test is independent from the protocol and can be
done with both protocol types.
The following values are constant values of the protocol IEC60870-5-104. They can not be
changed in IEC-TEST.
• COT with originator: Active, Value: 0
• CASDU-Address: 2 Byte
• IOA address: 3 Byte
The setting occurs at „Start / settings / Network connections / Local Area Connection /
settings / Internet protocol (TCP/IP) / settings / Alternative configuration / user de-
fined“. There you write the IP-Address 192.168.0.10 and the subnet mask 255.255.255.0.

• Measuring value telegram TI34 with 2 measuring values, Addresses 1000 und 1001
Now the test of SIPLUS RIC can be started. The test is independent from the protocol and can be
done with both protocol types.
A General Interrogation (GI) questions the actual values of all process variables.
To start a GeneraI Interrogation, push the button „TI100 Interrogation (GI)“ in the “send org.
Frames” window.
• Second requested telegram is a normalized measuring value telegram without time stamp
TI9 with 2 measuring values blocked, addresses 1000 and 1001 correspond to the inputs
of AI2

1001 - 0,0001 = -4d 00(h) o.k
With the telegram TI103 the time of the SIMATIC can be synchronized with the actual time of the PC.
To start the synchronization, push the button TI103 in the window „Send org. frames“:
The telegram “positive activation of time synchronization” which is sent to the RTU, is followed by
the message „positive acknowledgement of activation of time synchronization“. With the positive
confirmation the clock has been synchronized successfully. The timestamp in the telegram is the
time previous to the time synchronization.
The Info address describes the number of the message, according to the number on the simulator.
The value 0 equates “going” and displays green. The value 1 equates “coming” and displays red. The
type of the telegram is TI30 for single commands. The cause of transmission of digital messages is
spontaneous (3).
The measurement has the info-address 1000, according to the settings in Step7. The type of the tele-
gram is TI34 for measurement, the cause of transmission is also spontaneous (3).
• The commands 1 to 8 get acknowledged positive and are displayed on the DO8, other ad-
dresses get acknowledged negative.
• The percentage value (0…100%) adjusts the corresponding Voltage value of 0…10V.
• The button “Send” transmits an analogue command
Program sequence:
The module OB1 calls both modules FB1 and FB4. The module FB1 is responsible for the proto-
col IEC60870-5-101, the module FB4 for the protocol IEC60870-5-104. For the use of the 2 proto-
cols at the same time on the same CPU the FB100 of the IEC60870-5-101 protocol has been re-
named to FB101.
Parameters that can be set in the software module FB1 are explained in the following. The pa-
rameters have to be set according to IEC-TEST.
• For all values default settings are adequate, because they correspond to the IEC-Norm.
