• Brief description for installation

1.2. Important Notes

• Before switching-on, the cabling of the Demo-case has to be proved of loose wires.

! • The case can be used in a 230V AC 50Hz network. The connection to another network,
e.g. USA/Canada, is only possible if the power supply is switched to the corresponding
range!

3/23 Demo-case
1.3. System requirements

• For demonstrating protocol IEC60870-5-101 a PC with a serial interface (COM-Port) is

needed.
• For the use of protocol IEC60870-5-104 the PC has to be in the same subnet as the SIMATIC.
This has to be set in the network settings of the PC. (Attention: You need rights of an admin
on the PC to change the network settings, see chapter 3.3).

1.4. Functions

The SIPLUS RIC Demo-case demonstrates the application SIPLUS RIC IEC on S7. The parame-
terization of the ET200S occurs with the PC via SIMATIC STEP7. The PC act as a control center
(Master) using the program IEC-TEST. The parameterized ET200S is slave.

Following functions can be demonstrated with the case:

• Digital indications or analogue measurements can be stimulated on the simulation box and
displayed on IEC_Test
• Digital commands or analogue set points can be sent using IEC_Test and shown on the simu-
lation box.
• Application of telecontrol protocols IEC60870-5-101 (serial) or IEC60870-5-104 (TCP/IP)
• Demonstration of telecontrol on standard SIMATIC components

1.5. Connections

1.5.1 Settings

For parameterization, the CPU has to be connected with the PC with a standard LAN-cable.
The Cable is not in the scope of delivery.
After the parameterization the LAN-Cable will be needed for communication with the protocol
IEC60870-5-104.

1.5.2 Operating mode

In the operating mode, the cable that has to be used depends on the protocol:

ƒ IEC-60870-5-101: 9-pole SUB-D null modem cable from the SUB-D Interface of the simu-
lation box to the COM-Interface of the PC. The Cable is in the scope of delivery

ƒ IEC-60870-5-104: LAN-Cable from PN1-Interface of the SIMATIC-CPU to the PC.

The Cable is not in the scope of delivery.

2. Commissioning
The following describes the commissioning of the SIPLUS RIC Demo-case. A detailed description of
the commissioning can be found in the following chapter.

2.1. SIPLUS RIC Hardware

• Connect the power cable with the rubber connector of the Demo-case and the power supply.
• Switch on the power switch (a control of the LED of the SIMATIC can be found in chapter 3.1).

Depending on the protocol that should be demonstrated or tested, either the null modem cable
(Protocol IEC60870-5-101) or the LAN-cable (Protocol IEC60870-5-104) is needed:

• Plug in the null modem cable between the COM-Port of the PC and the SUB-D Plug of the
simulator box
• Plug in the patch cable between the LAN interface of the PC and the P1 interface of the CPU.
The network settings of the PC have to be proved, whether the PC is in the same subnet as
the Demo-case.

• Switch the CPU to RUN.

LED

• After switching on the following LEDs on the CPU are on:

SF red, ON green and STOP orange
• In the operating mode glow on the CPU:
ON and RUN green
• On the power modules glow:
PWR green
• On the 1SI module glows:
SF red, if the null modem cable is not connected

2.2. IEC-TEST (Software)

IEC-TEST is used to realize a telecontrol system either with the protocol IEC60870-5-101 (serial)
or with the protocol IEC60870-5-104 (TCP/IP) as Master or Slave. In our case IEC-TEST is always
control center and therefore Master.
The Program is delivered on CD and should be started from a hard drive (IEC_TEST.exe). There-
fore the whole file folder IEC_TEST should be copied in a user-defined directory.

3.6. Receiving indications and measurements with IEC-TEST
With the simulator you can transmit four single commands (switches) or one set point (regulator) to the
control center. Every message is displayed in IEC-TEST in the window “Frame Interpreter“.

Example for digital messages:

The Info address describes the number of the message, according to the number on the simulator.
The value 0 equates “going” and displays green. The value 1 equates “coming” and displays red. The
type of the telegram is TI30 for single commands. The cause of transmission of digital messages is
spontaneous (3).

Example for measurements:

The measurement has the info-address 1000, according to the settings in Step7. The type of the tele-
gram is TI34 for measurement, the cause of transmission is also spontaneous (3).

Both message types get a time stamp.

3.8. Settings of Step7 Software
In delivery state the SIMATIC is parameterized, that means normally no program or hardware-
configuration has to be loaded to the SIMATIC. If changes are taken to the hardware of the SI-
MATIC, this has to be projected in the SIMATIC-Manager and loaded to the SIMATIC. The Soft-
ware SIMATIC-Manager is not in the scope of delivery.

Program sequence:

The module OB1 calls both modules FB1 and FB4. The module FB1 is responsible for the proto-
col IEC60870-5-101, the module FB4 for the protocol IEC60870-5-104. For the use of the 2 proto-
cols at the same time on the same CPU the FB100 of the IEC60870-5-101 protocol has been re-
named to FB101.

Parameters that can be set in the software module FB1 are explained in the following. The pa-
rameters have to be set according to IEC-TEST.

Settings in module FB1:

The IEC-Interface is set to „unbalanced Mode“.

• L2_Length_Link_Address := 2, according to IEC-TEST
• L7_Length_ASDU_Address := 2, according to IEC-TEST
