The liturgy of the Church, the celebration of the sacraments, and the seasons of Lent and

Easter are particular times when we pay attention to what Jesus Christ has done for us
through his passion, death, Resurrection, and Ascension. Yet these are not the only times
when we experience the Paschal Mystery. It is a part of our everyday life; it is the
undercurrent of all that we do and all that we are. The Paschal Mystery is basically the
process of dying and rising, death and new life. We see this all around us and in our own
lives.
Jesus Christ’s passion, death, Resurrection, and Ascension are the ultimate event of dying and
rising, of death and new life.
The term "pilgrims and prophets of the paschal hope" refers to individuals who embark on a
spiritual journey or pilgrimage with the goal of experiencing and spreading hope related to
the Paschal mystery. The Paschal mystery is a central concept in Christianity that
encompasses the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Pilgrims are individuals who undertake a journey to a sacred place or engage in a spiritual
quest to deepen their faith and connection with God. They may visit historical sites, churches,
or participate in religious rituals to experience a sense of renewal and hope.
Prophets, on the other hand, are individuals who are inspired by their faith to proclaim
messages of hope and transformation. They may challenge societal norms, advocate for
justice, or offer words of encouragement to others in times of despair. Prophets are seen as
messengers chosen by God to guide and inspire others on their spiritual journey.
The paschal hope refers to the hope and belief in the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the
promise of eternal life. It is a hope that transcends suffering and death, offering comfort and
assurance to believers.
Together, pilgrims and prophets of the paschal hope strive to embody and share this hope
with others, encouraging them to embrace faith, find solace in difficult times, and live with
the anticipation of eternal life.
We learn from Jesus that new life can come from death, that we can find meaning in tough
times, that there really is light in the darkness.

Living the paschal hope in everyday life involves embracing the message of Christ's
resurrection and allowing it to shape your thoughts, actions, and interactions with others.
Here are some ways to live the paschal hope in your daily life:

1. Cultivate a deep and personal relationship with God: Spend time in prayer, meditation, and
reading scripture to nourish your spiritual life. Seek to understand and internalize the message
of hope and new life found in the Paschal mystery.

2. Embrace hope in difficult times: The paschal hope reminds us that suffering and trials are
not the end of the story. In times of challenges or setbacks, trust in God's plan and believe that
He can bring beauty and new life out of any situation.
3. Practice forgiveness and reconciliation: Just as Christ's resurrection brings forgiveness and
reconciliation, strive to forgive others and seek reconciliation in your relationships. Let go of
grudges, extend compassion, and work towards healing brokenness.

4. Share the message of hope: Be a witness to the paschal hope by sharing your faith and the
transformative power of the resurrection with others. Offer words of encouragement, be a
source of support, and share stories of how God has worked in your life.

5. Serve others with love: The paschal hope calls us to love and serve others selflessly. Look
for opportunities to help those in need, show kindness, and practice acts of mercy. By doing
so, you reflect the love and hope of Christ to the world.

6. Seek justice and work for the common good: As a prophet of the paschal hope, strive for
justice and advocate for the dignity and rights of all people. Stand against injustice, work
towards equality, and promote peace and harmony in your community.

By integrating these practices into your daily life, you can live out the paschal hope and be a
source of inspiration and encouragement to others.
