EIM 1205: ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT ANALYSIS

COURSE PORTFOLIO
EIM 1205 COURSE PORTFOLIO
Programme Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
Course Code EIM 1205: Electrical Circuit Analysis
Lecturer Mr G.V Nyakujara
Programme Learning  Perform systems integration
Outcomes  Design computerized management systems
 Design and build simulation models
 Demonstrate knowledge of manufacturing systems and automation
Course Learning  Use systematic methods to analyse the behaviour of direct current and alternating current circuits.
Outcomes  Apply network theorems for the analysis of electrical circuits.
 Analyse circuits in the sinusoidal steady-state (single-phase and three-phase).
 Use circuit simulators to simulate, understand and verify the behaviour of electrical circuits.
 Use phasors to describe and analyse the behaviour of circuits with sinusoidal excitation
 Understand the role, and limitations, of theoretical circuit models and simulation models in predicting the
behaviour of practical circuits and the use of experimental techniques to test and verify circuit performance.
