Topic: Reviewing the impact and functionality of United Nation Special Political Missions
Keeping in mind the major intensity of special political missions efforts of management and
functioning of challenges development observed in the past special political missions over the year,
Convincing parties to involve in relevant practices and frameworks in context of special political
missions,
Noting with appreciation the assistance provided by United Nations in order to decrease casualties
and human rights violations caused by Special Political Missions,
1) Calls for establishment of a separate account aligned with the peacekeeping budget cycle to
finance SPMs as suggested in the review of proposed funding for 2022 by the 5th committee;
2) Encourages countries to work with the Multilateral Investment Guarantee agency which promotes
investment in developing countries by offering political and economic risk insurance;
a- Two track diplomacy under which government and non-governmental organizations are taken
into consideration for formulation of public opinion
b- Peace spiral GRIT program which is the graduated reciprocated initiative in tension reduction;
4) Urges initiation of social development in the capacity of capacity development of nation post-
conflict through triangular cooperation of Intergovernmental Authority on Development proven
successful in the case of South Sudan;
5) Supports the making of Regional and Sub-regional agreements between countries which promotes
trust and transparency;
6) Urges countries to engage in more thorough consultations on political control and build on
regional efforts, and recognise and support regional peace management agencies.
