STAT£M£NT OF
PURPOSE
The purpose of this project is to feel and understand the
beauty of marine environment.
The marine environment is a precious asset. Oceans and
seas provide 99% of the available living space on the
planet which covers 70.9% of the earth's surface and
contain 90% of the biosphere and consequently a large
share of global biological diversity. About 1.6 percent of
the planet's water is locked up in the polar ice caps and
glaciers. Another 0.36 percent is found underground in
aquifers and wells. Only about 0.036 percent of the
planet's total water supply is found in lakes and rivers.
Hence, I always wanted to pursue my studies in Fisheries
to get closer to the watery arena. Even, I knew that there
are lots of things have to be explored and still much more
are need to be done in this field. Oceans are an essential
component of the Earth's ecosystem a source of
biodiversity, food, and life. According to FAO, over 40
percent of the world's population lives within 100
kilometers of the coast. Better management of the ocean
resources is thus crucial to ensuring global food security.

In order to compile my research work, the following
steps were followed:
1. I read the lesson 'MIJBIL THE OTTER' completely,
and understood about the otter and many other sea
animals also.
2. Made my statements clear, in order to tell more
about Otter and other animals .
3. Researched more about deep sea animals. This
project helped me to fetch more information and
knowledge about marine kingdom and sea creatures.
4. I watched videos of fisheries and how to save the
extinct species etc.
5. I also learnt about other famous and venomous
creatures that are at the verge of extinction.
This project helped me a lot, in collecting more
