I've been wanting to run a game where the players are space traveling mercenaries. I was looking 1,5 M 838 Top 1%

like to keep combat moving fast. I'm looking for something primarily humans-vs-humans centric,
where the players are above average grunts in skill. I'd prefer a game with a good range of

Acerca do Reddit I'd give a hearty recommendation for Traveller.

Stars Without Number with the Starvation Cheap supplement seems to mostly fit the bill. It
uses OSR rules which aren't exactly intuitive but if you've played dnd it will at least be
comfortable. The supplement also has a bunch of tables for randomly generating missions.

Maybe Traveller or GURPS. Both are great. I'd lean Traveller since it's more specific.

Another idea is FFG's Star Wars system. Age of Rebellion or Edge of the Empire would be
able to simulate mercenary companies and will have droids to massacre.

You have described Traveller, just add the robots once you grasp the rules, it's very easy...

I highly recommend Uncharted Worlds. I used it to run a short campaign earlier this year. It's
the most beautifully streamlined rpg that is fast and flexible to play.

It uses a variation of the Apocalypse World engine (The Sprawl and Dungeon World are
great examples of that as well). You can learn all that you need to know in 12 minutes using
the videos at the end of this comment.

Combat is very fast, resolving whole encounters in one or two rolls. You don't handle things
blow by blow (The combat video explains it better than I will here).

You can run combats that work like movies. Take the escape from the Deathstar in StarWars:
A New Hope. The heroes are running through a huge facility and have many brief
encounters with stormtroopers. Since each run in with the enemies is resolved in a single
roll, you can have huge sprawling and cinematic combats.

The equipment system is beautifully simple. Weapons have tags that determine their
properties, which is all you need for the fast paced combat. Look at the downloadable
pregen characters for some great examples.

Here are some videos that explain the game brilliantly:

How to play (3min) - First half is a general introduction to rpgs, the second goes into
detail for this game.
Character creation (3min)
Combat (6min)

Although it doesn't meet a good chunk of your requirements, I'm just going to throw in a
mention for 3:16 Carnage Amongst the Stars.

Traveler or Stars Without Number would be great they both have tons of source material for
this.

As I'm old school (because back then, it was the only school around), I would suggest
2300AD. Or, of course, MechWarrior. For two very different campaigns, of course.

I suppose the old Robotech RPG from Palladium or The Regiment: Colonial Marines might
be worth having a peek at.
