Abstract
The present study provides 30 wild mushroom species from Bangladesh. New
distributional and first record of Amanita caesarea, Amanita muscaria var.
guessowii, Amanita imazekii, Pluteus variabilicolor Babos, Russula emetic,
Marasmius haematocephalus (Mont.) Fr. 1838) Fr., Cuphophyllus pratensis,
Gymnopilus sapineus, Pycnoporus cinnabarinus, Lycoperdon lividum Pers.,
Lysurus periphragmoides, Leucocoprinus fragilissimus, Leucocoprinus birnbaumii,
Laetiporus sulphureus, Otidea onotica, Trametes lactinea, Cruentomycena
viscidocruenta and Lepiota bengalensis (Md. Iqbal Hosen). These wild fungus
studied and identified with its gills and color. Also studied its natural distribution
from Bangladesh to Neighbor Countries like India, Myanmar, Sikkim, China and
Nagaland.
Introduction
Fungus or fungi from the group of eukaryotic organisms. Including yeast and mold
like microorganisms. These organisms are classified with Animalia and Plantae
both. The study of fungi is known as mycology. That comes from Greek mykes
(Alexopoulos, Mims & Blackwell 1996) = mushroom. In the past mycology
included as a branch of botany. But now closely related to animals (Whittaker R).
1
The dead flesh of fungus odor like starfish or frogs. When studied of fungus that
smells come from old fungus body. Fungi (singular fungus) a spore bearing
organisms. Reproduce by both sexual and asexually. The science of study called
mycology. Original study related to microscopic. Such as mushrooms, puffballs
and bracket fungi. A variety of organelles present in fungi but unlike plants,
they’ve no chloroplasts. Fungi are nutritionally categorized as chemoheterotrophs
(like animal). Fungi have an ancient past to have as a food. But toxic fungi may
cause death and fatality.

Description
Fungus have some special
characteristics like fruit body, cap,

Polypore’s have pores no gills. Gills are an identity of any mushroom with naked
eye. Otherwise, spore and

mushroom.
5
Agaricus arvensis. Agaricaceae (Zinia) ঘোড়া মাশরুম
6
*** It is called “Horse mushroom” because it grows in horse manure. Not the
shape like a horse.
*** Amanita trends to grow under oak trees. But also find under hardwood tree.
It’s not safe to eat. Amanita shows their “Volva” in shape.

Boletus rex-veris Boletaceae (Mahfuz Russel) রেক্সের বোতল
*** Boletus known as king boletes, cepes, or,especially, porcini. And a characteristic king bolete or
“porcino” aromawhen dried. ssociation with trees, especiallymembers of the Pinaceae and Fagaceae, and
evenwith some shrubs. Big in size.
*** The gills of Amanita species or other fungi, different in every fungus when studied in naked eye. Its
necessary to examined by microscopic studies.
9
Coprinopsis atramentaria Psathyrellaceae (Azadi Rumi)কালির ক্যাপ
*** It was first described in 1914 by the American mycologist William Murrill who classified it as
Lepiota hortensis. In 1983 it was reclassified as Leucoagaricus hortensis by the British mycologist David
Pegler. In 2002 it was reclassified as Chlorophyllum hortense by Else C.Vellinga.
*** From tree stumps or buried wood of deciduous hardwood trees, Coprinopsis atramentaria, the
Common Ink Cap, arises in small clumps from spring until early winter.

Acknowledgement
At first thanks to Dr. Mahbuba sultana gave me the full information of fungi in
Bangladesh. Thanks to Foyjullah Al Numan. He is the guide of Rema kolenga
forest at Hobiganj. He collected some fungi photos from the woods. Azadi Sultana
Rumi captured Ink cap from Dhaka. Mahfuz Russel captured images from
Khagrashori.
Habitat
18
Over 5 districts included hilly areas of reserve forest. With tree species, ground of
woods, at the bark, old hard wood—etc.
Specimen examined
5 districts including Bogura district, Bangladesh. Most in RDA campus, Bogura,
Some from Hobiganj, Mymensingh, Khagrashori and others from Dhaka district.
Distribution
These genus distributed in Bangladesh at 5 districts (Fig-2-map). Most in RDA
campus, Bogura, Some from Hobiganj, Mymensingh, Khagrashori and others from
Dhaka district.
Ethical approval
Sample collected from 5 districts. Most in RDA campus, Bogura, Some from
Hobiganj, Mymensingh, Khagrashori and others from Dhaka district.

After all the studied and
practical examination of 30
fungi gills, fruit body, size
and color; it is clear that
those fungi are newly
recorded from Bangladesh.
Mentioning the areas of
study. Made herbarium
sheets with figure and
photos. Study areas
included in 5 districts.
Bogura, Hobiganj,
Mymensingh, Khagrashori
and Dhaka.
