8C108-ACC-1 Study Pattern - For 2324s1
1. Students are expected to enroll in five subjects in Semester One 2023/24, of which:
(a) ONE is general education (GE) compulsory subject;
(b) TWO are discipline-specific (DS) compulsory subjects;
(c) ONE is general education (GE) elective subject; and
(d) ONE is discipline-specific (DS) elective subject.
2. Students are expected to enroll in five to six% subjects in Semester Two 2023/24, of which:
(a) ONE is discipline-specific (DS) compulsory subject;
(b) THREE/FOUR% are general education (GE) elective subjects; and
(c) ONE is discipline-specific (DS) elective subject.
3. Students should refer to the Scheme Requirement Document (2022/23 cohort) for the
graduation requirements, including credit and level requirements, general education and
discipline-specific requirements, and GPA requirement. It is the responsibility of students
to ensure that they follow the requirements strictly and select their elective subjects as
appropriate.
(c) complete four/five% GE elective subjects so that together with the compulsory
subjects of BHMH2002 Introduction to Economics (Cluster N) and BHMH2004
Managing Organisations (Cluster N), the subjects should be under at least four of the
five Cluster Areas, and at least one of them should be from Cluster M Chinese
History and Culture.
5. Students who failed in one or more compulsory subjects in the academic year 2022/23 are
expected to retake them in the academic year 2023/24.

Students with HKDSE qualifications but without Level 3 or above in any one HKDSE subject other than
English Language should take one additional GE elective subject.
* Students admitted with Level 2 in HKDSE English Language (or its equivalents) are required to take
LCH1056 Academic English (Business) I (4 credits) and LCH1057 Academic English (Business) II (4 credits),
while students admitted with Level 3 or above in HKDSE English Language (or its equivalents) are required
to take LCH1005 English for Academic Studies (Business) I (3 credits) and LCH1006 English for Academic
Studies (Business) II (3 credits).
