1. The coins are tossed 1024 times. The theoretical frequencies of 10 heads, 9 heads, 8 heads,……,1
head, and 0 head are given below:
No. of heads Frequency No. of heads Frequency
0 1 6 210
1 10 7 120
2 45 8 45
3 120 9 10
4 210 10 1
5 252

Calculate the mean number of heads per tossing.

2. Calculate arithmetic mean from the following data:

Value Frequency Value Frequency
0-4 328 30-39 598
5-9 350 40-49 524
10-19 720 50-59 378
20-29 664 60-69 244

and 12 instead of 23 and 11, find the correct mean.

5. Find the median:

Wages Rs. No of labourers
60-70 5
50-60 10
40-50 20
30-40 5
20-30 3

6. Following is the distribution of marks in Law obtained by 50 students:

Marks more than No. of students
0 50
10 46
20 40
30 20
40 10
50 3
Calculate the median marks. If 60% percent of the students pass this test, find the minimum marks
obtained by a pass student.

7. There are two branches of a company, employing 280 and 320 persons respectively. If the arithmetic
mean of the monthly salaries paid by the two companies are Rs. 750 and Rs. 937.5 respectively, find
the arithmetic mean of the salaries of the employees of the companies as a whole.
