Wish and if only + past perfect

Use

We use wish and if only + past perfect to express our As with the 3 rd conditional, it is also possible to use
desire that the past was different. could +
have + past participle.
For example:
I wish I could have got on with
I wish I had more money when I was younger. (I didn’t
have very much/enough money when I was him. If only I could have got on
younger.)
with him.
If only you hadn’t said that. (You said it and it was wrong
to say it.)
