e.Review
Let us review our last topic about congruent line. You will have your
activity. I have a chart here. I will call somebody to come in front and
circle the figure that has the same shape or measure.

B.Establishing I will show you an object.

purpose for the lesson.

What is thiis class?

Where do you usually see this?
Do you go to church? When?
Do you pray? What do you pray? Why do we need to pray?

C.Presenting Now, I will present to you different kinds of pictures. Observe it.
examples/instances of
the new topic.

Okay, is there one thing in common between this pictures? Is there any
similarities? Yes all this pictures have lines.
Can you identify the figure that show lines?
Based from activity that we did earlier can you guess what will be our lesson
for this morning?

D.Discussing new Our topic for today is all about lines specifically, parallel,
concepts and intersecting ,perpendicular lines.
practicing new skills (present the objectives)
#1
Now, are you all excited?

What is Parallel lines?

Two lines are parallel if they do not meet or intersect no matter how
far they extend.

Example. Okay let’s try to observe the move of the two car.
C D

E F

The yellow car move from point C to point D. If we represented using

a line we can name it as line CD.
Then the orange car move from point E to point F. If represented
using a line we can name it as line EF.

If the two car continue to move in the same direction. Do you think
that the two car will meet at the certain point?

The answer is no. If we represent the movement of the car using a

line the pair of line do not meet any point even if we extends the line
in both direction is what we called parallel lines.

Here are the other example of parallel lines.

Just like the picture in your activity a while a ago. We have the road of
the train.

Understand what is parallel lines?

Next we have Intersecting lines?

What can you say about intersecting lines based from the picture?
Intersecting lines are lines that cross each other.
Here is the example.

Let’s proceed to Perpendicular lines?

Perpendicular lines are two lines that intersect and form square
corners.

Will cross to make a right angle.

90 degree

Here is the example of perpendicular line.

Class, do you understand the different lines?

Do have any questions about the three different lines?

E.Discussing new Work in pairs.

and concerns to new Tell whether the following are parallel lines, intersecting lines or
skills #2 perpendicular lines. If I will show every picture raise your paper
quickly.
F.Developing GROUP ACTIVITY
mastery(Leads to
formative Assessment) Group 1: (Slow learner)
Look at the pictures and identify what lines is being represented in
each picture. Whether parallel, perpendicular or intersecting lines.

Group 2: (Fast learner)

Write parallel, perpendicular or intersecting on the blank to describe
each pairs.

Here is the rubrics in doing your activity.

Applications of perpendicular lines, and intersecting lines in your everyday
concepts and skills in surroundings? Describe how they are used or how they help us in our
daily living. daily activities.
