LESSON OUTLINE

PEACE EDUCATION

THEME: COMMUNITY AWARENESS

TITLE: “I: A PEACEMAKER IN THE COMMUNITY”


OBJECTIVES:
1. Explain the purpose of Peace Education in the context of Catch-Up Friday
2. Assess learners prior knowledge about Peace Education
3. Express one’s perspective of an ideal peaceful community
4. Reflect on the importance of being a peacemaker in the community

I. INTRODUCTION
- Conduct the usual classroom preliminaries – prayer, greeting, etc.

INFORMAL DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT:


Direction: Answer the following questions in ½ crosswise. You may use
English or Filipino for your answers.
1. What is your idea about Peace Education?
2. How will Peace Education help you as an individual?
3. What results do want to see in you after attending Peace Education
classes during Catch-Up Fridays?

II. REFLECTIVE THINKING ACTIVITY/IES

A. PEACEFUL COMMUNITY
Direction: In five groups, describe your definition of peace in a
community by showing a tableau or a human statue. Be guided by the
question below.

What is peace in a community?

- One member of the group shall explain the tableau.


III. STRUCTURED PEACE EDUCATION ACTIVITY/IES

B. CLASS SHARING
Direction: Answer the following questions individually. (Recitation)

- ASKS:

o Is peace important in a community? Explain your answer.


o What are the signs that a community is peaceful?
o How can a community achieve peace?
o Can you become a peacemaker in a community? How?

IV. GROUP SHARING AND REFLECTION

C. ACT IT OUT
Direction: Perform a skit on how you can become a peacemaker in
your community.
