THE PROBLEM AND ITS SETTING

Background of the Study

Effective office management stands as a cornerstone for organizational

success, where streamlined workflows, efficient coordination, and optimal

productivity depend significantly upon proficient communication strategies among

employees. In today's dynamic work environment, the manner in which

communication occurs within an organization plays a pivotal role in shaping its

operational efficiency and overall success.Understanding and analyzing the

specific communication strategies employed by employees hold paramount

importance in fostering a conducive and productive workplace. The ability of

employees to navigate diverse communication channels, collaborate effectively,

and disseminate information efficiently not only influences daily office operations

but also contributes profoundly to the organization's ability to adapt, innovate,

and thrive in an ever-evolving business landscape.

However, beyond the broad challenges associated with ineffective

communication, certain communication-related aspects are identified as

constraining an employee's capacity to fulfill their job requirements. In cases

where managerial communication lacks clarity, employees may encounter

obstacles in adequately carrying out their duties Puni, Agyemang, & Asamoah,

(2016). Gudykunst (2005) have proposed the assessment of behavioral and

psychological factors as integral in evaluating effective communication and its

impact on employee attitudes and behavior. It emphasizes the significance of

clear communication practices, particularly those initiated by managerial figures,

and the need for a comprehensive understanding of communication's influence

on employee behavior and performance within the workplace.

Furthermore, during the times of organizational change, effective

communication plays a pivotal role in implementing these changes successfully

Harp (2011). “However, numerous contemporary organizations encounter

challenges in communicating change initiatives efficiently Cummings & Worley,

(2009).” Ineffective communication during these periods is reported to adversely

affect organizational functioning. For instance, poor communication can fuel

resistance to change, foster rumors, and amplify negative perceptions associated

with the change DiFonzo, Bordia, & Rosnow, (1994). Moreover, it can

significantly impact the overall corporate culture in a detrimental manner Keyton,

(2005) as cited in Harp, (2011).This discussion underscores the critical need to

prioritize effective communication strategies when navigating periods of change

within an organization. Clear and transparent communication practices play a

pivotal role in managing resistance, dispelling rumors, and fostering a positive

perception of change among employees, ultimately shaping the organizational

culture in a beneficial manner.

organizational success. Within this context, the implementation of proficient

communication strategies by employees plays an instrumental role in fostering

efficient workflows, coordination, and overall productivity within the workplace.

In recent years, the significance of communication within the realm of

office management has garnered increased attention. The emergence of diverse

communication platforms, technological advancements, and the evolving nature

of work dynamics have significantly impacted how employees interact and

collaborate in a professional setting. However, despite the advancements in

communication tools and techniques, challenges persist in achieving optimal

communication practices tailored to the specific needs and requirements of

organizations like “CATMAN, INC.”

While extensive literature explores communication strategies in various

organizational settings, there remains a notable dearth of comprehensive studies

focusing on the specific context of “CATMAN, INC.” This gap in research

necessitates a closer examination of the communication strategies employed by

employees within “CATMAN, INC.” to explicate the factors influencing effective

office management.

Understanding the nuances of communication strategies utilized by

employees within “CATMAN, INC.” holds the potential to identify best practices,

challenges, and opportunities unique to this organizational setting. Additionally,

exploring these strategies could shed light on how improvements in

Therefore, this study aims to delve into the intricate fabric of

communication strategies employed by employees at “CATMAN, INC. aiming to

identify the prevailing practices, challenges faced, and potential areas for

improvement. By doing so, this research seeks to provide actionable insights that

can contribute to refining and optimizing communication processes within the

context of office management, ultimately fostering a more efficient and productive

workplace environment.

Statement of the Problem

This study aims to know the Communication Strategies Utilized by

Employees of Next Generation Technology to Achieve Effective Office

Management. and in additionally to gather the perception of the selected

participants in CATMAN. Specifically, it sought to answer the following questions:

1. What is the demographic profile of the respondents describes in terms of:

1.2 Sex;

1.3 Civil Status;

1.4 Grade Level; and

1.5 Strand?

2. What are the common challenges that the employees are facing in terms of

office management:

Scope and Delimitation of the Study

This study “Communication Strategies Utilized by Employees of Next

Generation Technology to Achieve Effective Office Management” focuses

on exploring and highlighting the significance of Communication Strategies

in driving the growth and success of office management. The respondents

of the study are sixteen 16 employees of CATMAN institution in Guimba

Nueva Ecija.

Significance of the Study

The results to the conducted research may be beneficial to the following:

The Business Owners When it comes to understanding the requirements

and variables that employees of Next Generation Technology to Achieve

Effective Office Management need and want, the business owner may find the

interventions and recommendations of this study beneficial. This research will

assist them in more efficiently enhancing their enterprises.”

entrant’s Employees, for this may give them knowledge in effectively segmenting

their communication strategies in implementing their work.”

Definition of Terms

To further,understand the contents of this research paper the following

terms were operationally defined:

Communication Strategies - a deliberate approaches used to convey

information, ideas, or messages effectively of the employees to a target

audience.

Employees - people who provide their services to a business or

organization in specific CATMAN institution for exchange of salary.

Next Generation - The group of persons born into or raised in the

present era is referred to as the "next generation."

Technology - a tool used to implement communication strategies

Chapter 3

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Research Design

In order to explore communication techniques for harmonious

relationships with the personnel of the CATMAN Guimba Nueva Ecija, the

descriptive research method was adopted. Information from the respondents will

be gathered using a descriptive survey research technique.

Population and Sample Size

The population of the study consist of sixteen employees of Colleges of

Advance Technology and Management of the Philippines (CATMAN), Inc. The

sixteen employees will be the respondents of the study.

Description of the Respondents

The respondents of this study were the employees at the Colleges of

Advance Technology and Management of the Philippines Inc. They would be

characterized using simple demographic details including their age, gender, civil

status, grade level and strand (Humanities and Social Science, General

Academic Strand, Technical-Vocational-Livelihood Home Economic &

Information Communication and Technology, Accountancy Business, and

Management), (Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA) and

Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship (BSE). They were the ones who had

enough knowledge to answer the problems posed in this study. They answered

the questionnaire that the researchers gave to them which supplies the

information that need. Moreover, they were the ones whom researchers need

because employees at CATMAN encounter this common problem. The

researchers 16 employees to become the respondents in this study.

Research Instrument

Information will be gathered through survey questionnaires. There are

two sections to it: Part I covers the respondent's demographic information. This

will be validated to establish its reliability and validity. Collecting the necessary

data to establish the efficacy of communication strategies. Part II covers items

that deal with the effectiveness of communication strategies towards harmonious

employee interactions.Respondents will be checked as follows:

4 - Strongly Agree, 3 - Agree, 2 - Disagree, 1 - Strongly Disagree

Data Gathering Procedure

Before the conduct of the study, the researcher asked permission from the

adviser of each section of the respondents to conduct the study. After getting the

approval on the conduct of the study, the researcher personally administered the

survey questionnaire which included the personal information of the respondent’s

engagement in the impact of communication strategies.

In addition, the data gathering procedure was undertaken on Dec 15,

2023. Before the research instrument will be given to the respondents, the

researchers explained the purpose of the study, and each respondent will be

given an assurance of confidentiality, privacy, and anonymity. They have the

option of refusing to participate in the survey. The instruments were distributed to

the respondents who were given enough time to answer all the items. All the

completed questionnaires were collected personally by the researcher. The

responses of the respondents will be organized and analyzed using appropriate

statistical tools.

Statistical Treatment of Data

This statistical treatment of data represented the following scales with the

corresponding numerical equivalents. The items in the questionnaire were

carefully tallied and categorized by using the table together with the information

derived from the research questionnaire and survey.

Number of Frequency and Percentage. These will be used to analyze the

demographic profile of the respondents.

Standard Deviation. These will be utilized to calculate averages and the

respondents' responses to each statement were consistent.
