Topic: It is common for people to make assumptions about an individual's morality based on their level of
education.

Nowadays, people may judge others based on their education. They may seem that a person
with great knowledge has more goodness and kindness in heart, while the one with less knowledge has less
morality on a subject. However, we should not pay attention to rumors and judgments because that should not
be the standards of a person’s perspective of us. Morality is based upon a person’s emotions and actions, not a
person’s educational background. That is why I believe that people with low educational status do not have low
morality.
Firstly, a person with low educational status but with great self-taught skills and talents has more capability of
knowing what to do in certain situations. Self-taught skills can provide the knowledge of knowing what is right
and wrong. Not only that but with great self-taught skills can develop our understandings of a particular
situation. I have seen some of my classmates and friends as an example of it, some of them may have low
educational status in life and little knowledge about something. But by observing them, I can see that they still
have some great empathy and kindness towards me and other people.
Sometimes, social and emotional skills are better than educational skills in certain situations. Social skills can
provide knowledge to think whether if you are going to do something good or bad in a situation. On the other
hand, emotional skills can let you know whether if our actions can affect a person’s feelings and emotions. We
can determine the impact on a person's mental health by reflecting on our own experiences. Both of these serve
as a guide to go to the right path and not choose the wrong one.
Lastly, some successful people have low educational background in their history. In most cases, there are
several people that we have known for or had a great impact to our society had experience humiliation by their
relatives and friends for not having a great educational status or not having a degree in college. Walt Disney for
example, he did not go to college or get a degree but he produced one of the most successful animation and film
companies of all time. He had helped many people from toddlers to kids and even adults having a great
childhood and by believing that dreams do come true. He serves one of the best examples to not give up on your
dreams.
While some might think that having low educational status might affect a person’s future goals and
accomplishments. It does not clearly affect a person’s moral ethics and manners.
In summary, we should not judge a person’s morality based on their status on education. As Lincoln Steffens
said that “Morality is only moral when it is voluntary”. We should always remember that a person’s status in life
does not mean their morals are good and bad and we should not always judge a person on the outside.
