u It can be applied internally onto walls & ceiling
surfaces.
u On concrete surfaces that are smooth and also
on precast concrete surfaces.
u On wall surfaces that are plastered with water-
resistant plasters, Vetonit Renders, and on
damp concrete interiors.

Product Description
Vetonit Base WR is a cement-based coating composed of hydraulic binders, selected aggregates, and special
additives. It is supplied as a dry powder in pre-weighed bags ready to use on-site, which required only the addition
of clean water to produce easily workable mortar. Vetonit Base WR is a high-quality product for multipurpose use and
a base coat for Vetonit Finish WR. Vetonit Base WR can be applied in thickness from 1 mm to 5 mm, in one or two
layers depending on the on-site requirement. Vetonit Base WR is available in two standard colors white, Grey & Saveto
standard colors.

Cleaning

Internal Block Walls & Rough Surfaces
For manual application, add to the mixing container
7.5-8.5 liters of water for each 25 Kg bag of Vetonit Base
WR. For the Spray machine application, use 9.5-10.0
liters of water for each 25 kg bag. Add the powder to
the water and mix with a mechanical mixer, or use a
low-speed electric drill fitted with a suitable paddle.
Mix for 3-4 minutes until achieving a uniform, lump-
free consistency. Allow the mixed material to stand for
about 10 minutes, and remix briefly without adding
further water.
Smooth Concrete Surfaces
Add 0.5 liters of Vetonit Bond 2 to the mixing water and
adjust the water requirement accordingly for each 25
kg bag. Follow the same mixing procedure as described
above.
Base WR
Shelf Life & Storage
The original sealed bag of Vetonit Base WR has a shelf
life of 12 months provided it is stored clear of ground in
a dry and shaded place.
Limitations
Do not mix with any additives or products unless
recommended by Saveto.
Make sure the substrate is suitable for the plaster coat
application. In case of doubt, try on the sample area to
assess its suitability.
Do not apply the product at a temperature of less
than +5ºC. During the summer season, the working
area must be covered to prevent ill-effects from direct
sun and excessive air-draught during the initial curing
stage.

Application
Apply Vetonit Base WR to achieve a maximum thickness Health & Safety
of 5 mm in layers, 1-2 mm per layer. Vetonit Base WR is highly alkaline; therefore, avoid
direct contact with eyes or skin. It is recommended to

Do not disturb the installed material for at least 48
hours.
Curing
Cure Vetonit Base WR by spraying the applied material’s
surface with water every 12 hrs for a minimum of 3
days. During hot & dry conditions, allow curing for a
minimum of 5 days. This will help achieve a uniform
color, minimize the risk of surface cracks, and lead to
higher mechanical strengths.
