1. Are you a foodie ?

1. foodie=is a modern word to describe someone who is very interested in all aspects of
food, from buying, preparing and cooking to eating
2. a little bit=a small amount
3. a romantic=is an imagined perfect situation
4. affordable=for something we have enough money to buy
5. to be in danger of=for the possibility of something bad happening

I am not foodie but my sister is foodie and she watches every day cook program on
YouTube and buy book about “How to prepare delicious cook ?”. She understand one end
of a pig from another. And maybe that’s a bit romantic. But I look at my brother when he
is a little bit hungry, he must eat something. If do not get some food soon he is in danger
of getting very grumpy. I think he is always grumpy. Fortunately, There are a lot of very
affordable café in everywhere.

2. Lying to children
1. psychologist=psiholog, ruhshunos
2. distortion=a changing or bending of the truth
3. a white lie=a lie we tell without meaning to hurt someone, for example when I say to
you – you look nice today
4. malicious intent=is doing it deliberately to be cruel or to hurt someone
5. a societal norm=is the accepted or ‘normal’ way something is done in society

I am doing now Master’s degree and I will be psychologist in the future. When I was a
children my parents wanted me to be in a doctor but I lied to them “I am afraid of blood”
at that time. You know it is a white lie that is just distortion of the truth. But sometimes I
become malicious intent people around me but sometimes I become a societal norm.

3. Is the internet good or bad?

1. Initially=at first, in the beginning
2. neutral=not controlling, not taking any action to control
3. anonymity=the state of having a hidden identity or personality
4. ameliorate=a situation is to make it better
5. To tweak=something is to make a small change to the way something works
6. Kudos=is praise and appreciation for something you've done

Initially I think using internet is a good thing and it helps me to get any information all of
thing. Such as, about weather, new books, restaurants and other interesting things. but on
other hand, internet is not neutral so If you connect people by social network where they
have anonymity, then it can bring out the very nastiest of people. The different social
networks and different platforms are in different situations and in some cases they have
acknowledged there is an issue. I think they realise that the issue could be hugely
ameliorated by tweaking the way the thing works by changing the way retweets are
propagated or changing the way people get kudos - give them more kudos for being
constructive for example.
 4. Perfume: what your smell says about you
1. odorant = a material that has a strong smell
2. a trigger and a catalyst = both of which refer to something that can make something
else happen
3. give off=unspoken information, to produce something such as a smell, heat
4. underestimated= understand the real cost
5. to mess with someone= to use or become involved with something or someone
dangerous
