Literacy Writing

We will be reading books that focus on

the seasons.
Our unit essential question is: How does
seasonal change impact people, animals, and
plants?

Our next unit is: Informational Text
Students will be learning that Informational
Writing consists of facts about a topic and
not opinions. Students will learn how to
create a list of facts about a topic they
know lots about, then learn how to look at
non-fiction books to learn more information
about their topic.

Math Science- Push and Pulls

In math students are beginning to use not just
objects and drawings to model “put together” and
“take apart” situations, but they are now beginning
to use expressions and equations.
Students will work on composing and
decomposing numbers to 10 and continue to
familiarize themselves with many different models
such as ten frames, number lines, and part-part-
whole models.
In Science we have been learning about
how and why things move so that we can
design our own pinball machines.
Students will talk about cause and effect
and different way objects can move.
Vocabulary: Force, Exert, Engineer,
Object, Visualize, Push, and Pull, Cause
and Effect

Suggested homework: Practice Sight words and high frequency words.
