1. Have you conducted capstone project, a feasibility study, or a detailed
engineering project plan?
I have prior experience in conducting a capstone project and several researches
and feasibility studies in high school.
2. Give a brief overview of the project.
I have conducted a capstone project back in Grade 12 as a requirement in our
course subject. It was initially an individual project but was later on changed to a group project (group of 3). For our capstone project, we needed to select topics that are related to our STEM strand, and our group has decided to focus on science. It was a simple mosquito repellent air freshener using the extract from pandan leaves. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to defend the project, even its proposal because of the pandemic lockdown. Supposedly, there’s also a research project aside from the capstone project during that semester. We proposed to have a system application that can easily identify the type of plant or trees just by taking its picture, but it wasn’t pushed through because of the lockdown.
Last semester, we conducted a feasibility study as a requirement in our course
subject, Hydrology. It was a group project and we chose to conduct our project in Catanduanes National High School. Our feasibility study is titled “PROJECT TUBIG: Tubig na Malinis, Tubig na Maasahan, Installation of Drinking Water Fountains at Catanduanes National High School”. Due to the school calendar matching with summer season, students and teachers have to bear with the extreme heat during class and this can lead to dehydration and heat exhaustion. As an alternative solution to the effects of extreme heat experienced by the students and teachers, we proposed this project to provide a supply of safe drinking water inside the campus.
