Understanding the Self

Activity & Assessment

Activity 6

Write your thoughts about these statements:

1. In your own perspective define what is beauty

Beauty revolves around the radiance and positivity you contribute to the world just by
embracing your authentic self. It involves embodying your identity, having confidence in your
worthiness, and acknowledging that you deserve all that life offers. True beauty is manifested
through kindness, both towards others and oneself, and by fully embracing one's identity while
standing firm in that authenticity. It's about accepting and appreciating who you are and
confidently living your truth. It means being the best version of yourself without any apologies.

2. Give at least 2 persons in your life whom you consider beautiful and explain what makes them
beautiful
The two person whom I consider beautiful is my mama and papa. My mama holds everyone's
close and works hard to shield us from harm. Despite facing her own problems, she's still on our
side ready to listen and understand, guiding and making us stronger. Sometimes, her decisions
as a mom might not match our wants, but I believe she's just keeping us out of trouble. It's truly
warmth to have someone to share my life stories with. In the modern world, it would be tough
without my mama. Then there's papa, my supporter in everything I do. Though we might not be
super close, and I've had moments of resentment, I'm still grateful for him.

3. Which part of your body do you consider beautiful, explain why?

I think my eyes are the best because they're like windows to my soul, showing feelings,
thoughts, and depth. Their beauty goes beyond just looks – they can express happiness,
sadness, excitement, or thinking deeply. The unique color of my iris makes my eyes special. Also,
eyes are important for saying things without words, and their special design helps me feel
connected to the world, making them really captivating.

4. I am Beautiful or Handsome because...

I am beautiful because of the uniqueness of traits that I have. My beauty isn't just about how
I look – it's in how I am kind, resilient, and how I carry myself confidently. You can see it in my
friendly smile, the twinkle in my eyes, and the authenticity of my character. My uniqueness, life
experiences, and the way I handle things all add up to a beauty that is uniquely mine.
