What is renewable energy?
How does it work?
Renewable energies are those
energy sources based on the use
of the sun, wind, water, plants or
animal biomass, among others.
They are characterized by not
using fuels. It has generators and
energy storage to then operate
electricity, so that the generated
electricity can be used.
It creates a energy that produces
1 no greenhouse gas emissions

Diversify energy supply and reduce

2 dependence on imported fuels.

3 Improves public health.

Creates economic development and

4 jobs in manufacturing, installation,
and more.

Why are they important?

What would happen if
we did not use them?
Crisis because of CO₂ and other
1 greenhouse gases"
2 Oil spills (water pollution)

3 Acid rain from air pollution

Increase in climate change and sea
4 level rise.

5 The ice would increase the melting

speed in the polar and Arctic regions.
Premature deaths from exposure to
6 metal particles linked to the
burning of fossil fuels.

Types of
renewable
energy
Wind energy
Wind energy uses the force
of the wind to transform it
into mechanical energy
through the movement it
causes in the mill blades.
Then, this mechanical
energy is converted into
electrical energy thanks to
a generator
BIOENERGY
When we talk about
"bioenergy," we refer
to energy from the
transformation of
biomass, which is
organic material that
can be used to
generate heat,
electricity, and fuels.
GEOTHERMAL
ENERGY
Geothermal energy is
the energy obtained by
using the Earth's
internal heat, which
can be considered
globally continuous
and inexhaustible.
Solar energy
Solar energy is obtained
from the sun in the form of
electromagnetic radiation
(light, heat, and ultraviolet
rays). By installing solar
panels, it can be used to
obtain thermal energy and
then generate electricity.

energy
Ocean energy, also
known as marine energy
or hydroelectric energy,
is an abundant
renewable energy
resource that uses
ocean water to
generate electricity.
