1. From the PPST, the southeast Asia Teachers Competency standards and the TEDx
videos that you viewed, what competencies does a great teacher possess?
Aside from the other standard of the best teacher, the great teacher always considers
the needs of the student, the teacher who warm accessible, enthusiastic, caring.

2. Are the competencies limited only to professional competencies?


Because it serves as the foundation of the teacher, if you really an educator you need the
professional competencies to teach the student effective. But you need to consider
everything it depend in the situation of the student.

3. For a teacher to be great, is it enough to possess the professional competencies to


plan a lesson, execute a lesson plan, manage a class, assess learning, compute and
report grade? Explain your answer.
Its enough to plan a lesson, execute a lesson and the other activity that can learn the
student effectively because you possess a professional competency. but as a teacher you
need to consider the important personal qualities, on who you are like attitude of caring
student because good relationship between teacher and student is important.

4. for a teacher to be great, which is more important-personal qualities or professional


competencies?
I think, the more important is the personal qualities such an ability to listen, to be
patient and look at the student life not only in school but on their situation in life, n

5. Who are the teachers that we remember most?


The student always remembers the teacher kind, funny, brilliant and passionate. They
remember teachers who cared about them, and support, encouraging and saw something
to the student that no one else did, because it gives an inspiration to the student to be
more active.

Which personal traits do I possess, Not possess? Where do I need improvement in?
My personal traits do I possess is being honest, brave, compassionate, leader, courageous,
unselfish, loyal, self-control. But I think one of the personal traits I need an improvement is under
the positive emotional trait in being brave, because there are times I afraid to the possible result
of my task, in short, I’m afraid to make mistake.

Which professional competencies am I strongly capable of demonstrating?


The social competencies, such as social skills are the skill, we use to communicate in the student
on what their problem and idea.
In which competencies am I strongly capable of demonstrating?
The competencies that I strongly capable is social awareness, this possession skill need to
perform in school in the future, it helps children or student in improving their social skills, not
only to understand the information you explain to the student through this skill, but it helps also
to understand how another person feeling.

In which competencies do I need to develop more?


Honestly as a future teacher there is a lot of competencies need to develop such as
communication, collaboration and teamwork, self-awareness, and more

Who are the teachers that we remember most?


The teacher we remember most, is the teacher kind, approachable, being passionate about the
subject, and just caring about your students are qualities that students still think to make a
teacher memorable.

1. OBSERVE In assisting my Resources Teacher, I observed that personal traits such as being
passionate, it easy the student to listen, passion sells any topic. and professional
competencies like communication and interpersonal skills were least/ not display and as
result, student were / class was easily to learned.
2. REFLECT The lack of these personal traits and professional competencies (mentioned in
#1) may be caused by deficit practice and it can laid to failure in learning.
3. PLAN I would like to address this problem (mentioned in #2) by conducting an action
research on how to improve this kind of personal traits and professional competencies.

a.) The main objective of my action research is to address the lack in this kind of personal
traits and professional competencies.
b.) My specific research questions are: how to become passionate? And how to have
communication and interpersonal skills?
c.) To answer my specific research question, I find some information to be passionate in
teaching you need to take interest in knowledge and ideas and make serious your
teaching and has a sense of humor, how to have communication and interpersonal
skills you need to control your emotion, practice active listening and empathy.

As a future teacher we need a lot to consider the student needs, on how to become a
great teacher to them, how to know their situation in the classroom and outside the
classroom, to listen their ideas and problem, to guide them by applying the theory of
Vygotsky in the child development the scaffolding method that teacher relate to guide
the student to make them knowledgeable and mature ..
