How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:

☐ Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the
student and mostly practice based.

☐ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic
of learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The
teacher facilitates the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

☐ Problem-based (Real world problems) and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems
and completing projects to demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared
outside of the classroom. (Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the
school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another
class, or publishing it via an outside source.)

Lesson idea implementation:

Students will be given the Padlet and expected to work through the different activities. Firth I will
show them a picture of MLK Jr. and ask then to comment on the Padlet with what prior knowledge
they have of him. Then, they will watch a short informational video on him. Then, they will answer a
question on the Padlet and comment on one other students. Next, they will work on the interactive
timeline embedded into the Padlet. Then, they will take a short 5 question quiz about what they
learned from the timeline and video. Finally, to wrap up they will type a takeaway or something they
found interesting about MLK Jr.
Managing student learning:
In order to manage student learning I would be watching the Padlet in real time. I also added the
comment on another student portion of this to help them stay on task since their classmates will
be waiting to comment on other responses.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

This promotes collaboration when going through other responses and commenting on them
because students will be able to see other perspectives and take something away from them and
they will be able to see how others feel about their ideas as well. This also promotes engagement
and Expression through the open ended responses and the interactive components on the Padlet.
Reflective Practice:
I believe this will help children learn the topic in a way that is different from the traditional ways
because children can work at their own pace as well as express their ideas and hear feedback that
they can view in the future as well.
